A Leaf from Our Playbook

Winter Work

It may be raining and cold, but our crews are busy. This is the time of year we focus on the planting beds, pruning out dead or diseased branches, renovating shrubs, thoroughly weeding, putting down pre-emergent herbicides, and protecting the soil with a layer of compost or bark (if that has been requested).

This is a great time to walk your site with your Thompson Landscape Company Account Manager to discuss the basics as well as anything that goes beyond your service contract. Bark or mulch not only make your landscape beds look considerably sharper, they protect the soil and enhance plant health. Replace trees or shrubs that have died or have outgrown the space. Restructure problematic bed areas. Have major or particular pruning done.  All the rain we've had has probably made drainage issues obvious. Give us a call; we can bid any project you need.

Irrigation Systems

Our February newsletter will be devoted to irrigation. Get started thinking about your system. We can arrange a visit to discuss your irrigation needs. 541-686-3469.

Year-round Herb

Rosemary is a woody herb that comes in a variety of shapes from creeping to broad to distinctly vertical. The flowers range from white to pink to various intensities of blue. This edible-leaved plant is drought tolerant and evergreen. Plus, it blooms from fall until spring (depending on cultivar), with heavy blooming coming in  February.
