Hi There! Welcome to Meningioma Companion's newsletter. Get the scoop on what we learned in December! |

The brain tumor journey is ongoing. Enjoy tips from our December sessions. - Try the Migraine Buddy App! If you suffer from migraines and have frequent headaches, consider this app to get organized with the what, when, and why of it all. The best gift you can give yourself is to learn how your body responds to certain triggers and this app allows you to do just that. A highly rated tool with many options, check it out to see if it may be beneficial to you: Migraine Buddy
- MRI Schedule: MRI schedules are different for everyone, however, the majority of us brain tumor patients take our tube ride annually. People who go ten years or more with no tumor status change usually schedule every 2-3 years, but other than that, the general consensus is once every year. If your proposed schedule has you worried about the unknown, you may wish to speak with your doctor or get a second opinion.
- Recovering from 2020! Our support groups began in September when the pandemic showed no signs of slowing down. A common topic at each session has been our collective anxiety, confusion, loneliness, and frustration with 2020. At times it felt overwhelming and for many of us it still does. My place of work wrote a great little blog about things we learned from the worst year ever. May this read bring you some positive hope as we welcome 2021.
Many thanks to all who joined and shared so openly in December. I hope to see you again soon. Please respond directly to this email if you wish to sign up for any of the below sessions. January 2021 Schedule (PST) Sun, 1/3: 5:45pm-7pm ($7) Fri, 1/8: 3:45pm-5pm ($7) Sat, 1/16: 9:45am-11am ($7) Fri, 1/22: 8:45am-10 ($7) Sun, 1/31: 5:45pm-7pm (FREE)

Being a Brain Tumor Companion is a labor of love. When I was diagnosed over eight years ago, I was so confused. When I got the news that I needed a craniotomy, I fell apart. The support I craved was not available. Yes, Facebook groups are great, but my posts faded fast. I wanted to cry, laugh, vent, and learn from someone I could rely on. In late 2019, I began one-on-one companion sessions to help pay it forward, and in September 2020, I began hosting Brain Tumor Zoom Support Groups (BTZSG). I now offer the platform which I needed all along. Connect with others and never feel alone on this journey again. It's a gift to share in real time, with those who "Get it!" | | |
