What to forage this month: Basal rosette of leaves of Common Sorrel (Rumex acetosa), young leaves of Dandelion (Taraxacum spp.), shoots of Sea Kale (Crambe maritime), and my favourite! Wild Garlic (Allium ursinum). Try egg scramble with finely sliced leaves and sprinkle with its white flowers! Nom! On Cowslips (Primula vulgaris) and Primroses (Primula veris). Whilst their edible flowers are a beautiful addition to a spring salad (and folk wine), they are also one of the first meals of super-hungry bees awakening after hibernation! If you forage for them, be mindful of this and treat yourself as a guest rather than the other way around. |

What I’m reading My StoryGraph app shows that I am currently reading 9 books… Are you a mood reader? I start every morning with Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferris, which helps me get new insights and motivation when my disabilities and chorionic illness are teasing me… During work breaks or chores, I listen to The Art of Learning, an audiobook by International Chess Master Josh Waitzkin. |
|
Why use only your own reflections if you can learn from others, too? After work, I like to clean my space whilst listening to the fantastic Simon Reeve, who narrates his own books on Audible. On Tolkien Tuesdays and weekends, I read and/or listen to Master Tolkien – obviously XD. Current read: Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-earth. |
