my favorite feedback

An early reader of The Podcast Chronicles reached out to me about how much she was enjoying it: I am 90% done. I honestly can’t put the book down! I woke up at 5:30 am and decided to continue reading, something I haven’t done in years.

Every writer hopes for a similar email in their career, but what she said next hit me in the heart: This book is helping me through a challenging time...I just wanted to let you know that this book is causing a positive impact at a crossroad for me.

We continued to email back and forth, and she hit on something I agree with and that is the crux of the novel: I think so many women, in particular, experience this sense of loss and sudden disregard, identity crisis, and crossroads at this stage of life, some in their 50s and some in their early 60s.

Sue Cleary, the main character, is a once-upon-a-time business hotshot who gave up her career to raise four boys. Now they are flying the nest, and she wonders what's next in her life. Whether it's kids leaving home, grappling with a job loss, or leaving the workforce, we're often faced with the what's next question. This is a story about a woman who is driven to protect her home from a tacky theme park, but who also has to find her way to the person she's going to be next. I hope you enjoy the novel.

Book Recommendation

The End Game by Charlotte Morganti is an old-school detective novel that will have you trying to solve the mystery until the last pages.

D.S. Gabrieli is a once successful attorney who is now a down-on-his-luck P.I. The novel is set in a small town in British Columbia, and he has to figure out who is blowing up mine sites before his little brother is charged with the crime.

Along with a satisfying mystery, the book gives readers a quirky cast of characters they'll want to know better and a setting they'll long to visit. The End Game is the first novel in a series about the detective.
