Declaring My Independence |

Announcing great developments at the studio this July |

No that is not a picture of me above, but it's not hard to imagine myself in a similar pose on the morning of Saturday July 15th. While the country celebrated the anniversary of its independence this past 4th of July, I will be officially celebrating my independence as a fully self employed individual at the end of this week. And I couldn't be more excited. Ahhh the sweet feeling of freedom! |

While it would be tempting to take a break and rest for the summer, I find with more time to devote to improving the studio, my days will likely be busier than ever. I have a lot of plans for the studio going forward. First, there will be more newsletters coming in the next couple of weeks. They will include updates about: Our new expanded operating hours Our updated and improved class project menu, Our new Youth Sewing Curriculum Our Student Appreciation Promotions to say thank you to all the students who have helped the studio get this far.
...and much, much more. And don't worry, though I may send some extra communication this second half of July, as the studio transitions, my plan is to afterwards send a once (possibly twice) monthly newsletter in the proceeding months. I want to stay in touch but I don't want to overwhelm. |

Finally InKandycence (pronounced in-can-des- cence) will be putting more time into improving a few of our underdeveloped elements. For example our blog, Best Wishes & Straight Stitches, used largely now to communicate information about classes and supplies, I hope will some day be more like an online sewing magazine. It has along way to go, I know, but it is something I can now devote a few more hours to each month to make it better. The same thing can be said of the studio's online boutique, Kandyce Kreations. Most of you don't know I have an online boutique, (LOL!) because it is in need of some attention and promotion as well. There are also some community engagement ideas I want to see the studio spearhead. Imagine something like a Sewing Pop Up on the 4th floor of the Downtown Library. Or even a lesson series at the Chattery. I will finally have time to take these ideas and others turn them into some tangible events. |

All-in-all this is the start of a new chapter in the InKandycence journey. One I am very excited to share with all of you, my supporters and my students. In the meantime, keep coming to classes, and if you haven't been in a while think about when you can come back There are sew many adventures to come! Kandyce |
