Activities

Over the last few months, our activities team has been trialling some forward thinking and outside the box ideas for resident activities.

A few weeks ago, the Home arranged for alpaca's to visit our residents in the lounges and also in their rooms. The cute and fluffy alpacas were very friendly and all residents enjoyed interacting with them. The alpacas got a lot of love and cuddles and we are sure both the residents and staff enjoyed themselves!

We also recently invited a group who specialise in Virtual Reality (VR) activities, allowing residents to experience some amazing sights around them through a headset that they wear, letting them look in every direction around them. We had a taster session with them to see if our residents enjoyed the experience, and they sure did! Some of the experiences include swimming with fish, turtles and whales, walking along the beach and watching a sunset.

The VR group will be coming back to the Home towards the end of November to give more residents a chance to enjoy the experience.

Family Visits

With Christmas quickly approaching, we would like to remind family members to book their visits either through our online booking system (click here to do so) or by calling our Home.

If for any reason you cannot make your booking, please just let us know in advance so that we can offer the booking to other family members.

We would also like to request that all family members stick to their visiting times as closely as possible.

We have been working extremely hard to ensure our infection control standards are kept at the highest level (in fact, our most recent external Infection Prevention & Control inspection gave us a score of 94%), this includes ensuring all visits are structured and well organised. If you need to change the timing of your visit, please get in touch with us to find out what times we have available.
