Provincial Projects
Market Beef Project
We are in need of a trained and screened leader to join the Market Beef group on Saturday. If you are able to fill one of these roles please let Katie know ASAP (kamaccormack@pei4h.ca)
Photography Project
Registration for this Provincial Project is now live. We do need 25 participants for this project to go ahead... that being said, we have decided that Leaders can also sign up for this beneficial workshop, priority being given to members first.
Habitat for Humanity is inviting Grades 4, 5 and 6 students across Canada to submit a poem or essay explaining what home means to them. Each entry results in a $10 donation to a local Habitat and the winner in each grade gets to direct a $30,000 grant to a local Habitat build. Nine runners-up (3 per grade) will also get to direct a $10,000 grant towards a local Habitat build. Additional prizes include an iPad, and class pizza party for each of the grand prize winners.
4-H members are wonderful ambassadors to our communities. This is an opportunity for our membership to use their “head, heart and hands” for the greater good!
If a member chooses to make a submission and would like to use this opportunity as a Community Service Activity for their 4-H year they should send a copy of their submission to their 4-H Specialist and Overall Leader.
The issue of emails from Provincial Staff not being delivered to recipients seems to still be an ongoing issue. Please ensure that you check your junk mail folder regularly, especially if you are waiting on something from a staff member. If you do find an email in the junk folder, mark the email address as "safe." Unfortunately, this is something we have no control over. Similarly, if you have sent an email to a staff and days have passed with no response, please give us a call to ensure your message was received!
For the upcoming 4-H year we are strongly encouraging our leaders and members to stay up to date with news and events by checking out the monthly newsletter and visiting the *newly updated* website regularly. This is in an effort to streamline information and ensure that information is easy to find for everyone. The website should be your first stop for info! That being said - there are things that we occasionally post to our Provincial Facebook page that may not be duplicated on the website, such as Club Reports. Leaders and Members will still be able to see these posts, regardless of if they have a Facebook account, by clicking the link that we provide in this newsletter. So please do not disregard future information that is connected to Facebook - you can still access it if you please!
