American Canyon Arts Foundation, June 2019

More Mosaic Workshops Announced

We are scheduling more workshops for the community to join us!  We meet at the Boys & Girls Club Building in American Canyon (60 Benton Way) on the following dates:

Saturday, June 8, 10am-4pm

Thursday, Fourth of July, 1pm-3pm

Saturday, July 20, 10am-4pm

We hope to finish our first (of three) panels this summer.  With your help, we can get the artwork completed sooner and reveal the finished product!  Once installed, it will become an incredible work of public art--you will be able to point to it and say how you helped make the art!

We are still raising funds for the materials and supplies. We received major contributions from the Arts Council Napa Valley, City of American Canyon, and the AC Community Parks Foundation, not to mention the Arts Foundation itself!

If you can't make these dates, contact us!  We can offer "Tile Parties" for small groups up to 10-15 people.  Send us an email at info@amcanart.org.  For the latest updates, go to our website.

Pygmalion Art Contest Update

We're selling entries for our 2019 Pygmalion Art Contest.  For only $20 (member rate) you can get a set of three high quality oils, in Sunset Orange, Rhino Red and Saffron.  You then use any combination of those three colors to paint a 24" x 30" painting.  Bring it to the Welcome Center on Friday, August 2 and join us for a reception and vote on the "People's Choice."  It's fun and the reception is free. The winner will receive a gift certificate for dinner at LaStrada Restaurant and a bottle of wine.

We only have 30 sets of oils, so first come, first served!  The price is only $20/entry, or $25 if you aren't a Foundation member. Latest Update!  You can enter online, or at the Welcome Center, located at 3860 Broadway (Hwy. 29).

Bring your finished work to the Welcome Center on Friday, August 2, at 5pm.  The reception will start at 6pm, and we will announce the "People's Choice" at the end of the reception.

Spring Art Salon at ACHS

As the school year ends, High School Art Students present their artwork for classmates, parents and the general public to enjoy.  As it was this year, during the afternoon of May 30, 2019.  The art was great and hats off to Ms. Hull--her students' artwork gets better every year!

DENNIS ARIZA AT THE WELCOME CENTER

Dennis Ariza, who was one of our winners from the 2019 Art Extravaganza, will be our featured artist for June/July.  In addition to being an award-winning photographer, Dennis also is a member of both the Arts Foundation and the Fairfield Suisun Visual Artists Association (FSVAA), where he manages the Solano Town Center Gallery.
