We're delighted that you're joining the INTA Spring meeting in our hometown, and we don't want you to be hanging out in all the wrong places. After years of field research (hard work!) we're confident we know all the best spots for food, drinks and leisure. Enjoy! |

Pipa & Co. Paseo de la Habana 105 A hip, affordable restaurant with an international menu. Airy and confortable, it's ideal for informal meetings or (late) brunch. Extra points as it's located a few meters away from the convention hotel.
Mesón Txistu. Plaza Angel Carbajo, 6 Traditional Basque restaurant not to be missed by meat lovers. Their specialty is "chuletón", or beef T-steak. Popular amongst Real Madrid players (their Stadium is in the vicinity), it's a bit pricey but also excellent quality. It's located 15-minute walk away from the convention hotel.
Amazónico. Calle Jorge Juan, 20 Eclectic fusion menu, spectacular décor, and world-class cocktails. This is the most fashionable restaurant in Madrid right now, a place to "see and be seen". After dinner you can enjoy some music in their very own basement jazz club. This restaurant is quite sought after, so book ahead!
Florida Retiro. Paseo de la República Dominicana, 1 An iconic bar and restaurant inside the Retiro Park. Great to enjoy de Madrid winter blue skies with a "caña" (small draught beer) or to party all night (it closes at 6 a.m.!) Also, it happens to be in front of our office.
Casa Benigna. Calle de Benigno Soto, 9 Off-the-beaten track restaurant offering mainly and mostly paella. With it's quirky decor of hanging laundry and it's location a bit off-centre, you won't be among tourists here. Absolutely worth it if you're looking for quality and authenticity.
Corral de la Morería. Paseo de la República Dominicana, 1 This is the most famous "tablao" in Madrid: a place to see flamenco dancing and singing. It has surprisingly managed not to become a tourist trap and still attracts real aficionados. Dinner is also available, but book in advance!
Museo Reina Sofía. Calle Santa Isabel 52 Madrid is a treat for art lovers - if you have time, you must go to the Prado and Thyssen Museums. But if you're strapped for time - as it often happens in business travel - we recommend a quick visit to Museo Reina Sofia, where you can see the spectacular Guernica painting by Pablo Picasso. One painting that's absolutely worth the trip.

Drinks, anyone? Madrid is famous for nightife and there's something for everyone: while undeground music lovers flock to the small bars of Malasaña like Via Lactea, there are plenty of higher-end options like Gunilla. A popular place for the hip crowd is Medias Puri, housed in a former lingerie store of the same name. |
