After our Republican supermajority overrode Governor Cooper’s veto, these bills are now NC law!

The “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act” (H574) protects opportunities for women and girls in athletics by ensuring that women are not forced to compete against biological men on women’s sports teams. This includes all female athletes starting in kindergarten through college/university.

The “Parents Bill of Rights” (S49) creates transparency regarding school curriculum and gives parents rights to object to curriculum, be involved in schools, guarantees parental rights to the medical records of their children and prohibits teaching gender ideology in K-4th grade.

Finally, the “Gender Transition/Minors” bill (H808) prohibits attempting to surgically or hormonally change the biological sex of any child under the age of 18.

Pizza and Candidate Talk. Luke Farley, running for NC Labor Commissioner, will meet and greet at BCGOP HQ - 18G Regent Park Blvd., Asheville from 6:30-7:30 pm. Bring your appetite and some questions…learn what a Labor Commissioner does.  

Luke will also be at the Apple Festival in Hendersonville, NC on Saturday 9/2 from 11 am - 1 pm and on Monday 9/4 at 1 pm to meet and greet.

Republican Town Hall Meeting at BCGOP HQ at 6:30 pm. Guest speaker, Denise Frey, President of Asheville Rifle and Pistol Club, will talk about women's self-defense and gun safety classes.

Although electric vehicles have dominated the market for clean air vehicles, they might not actually be the best technology for long-term clean air vehicles.  So the story headline is -  

  “...Why Hydrogen Fuel Cells are Better Than EVs.”   Whoa, wait, what?

The first fuel cells were invented in 1838, yes 1-8. “Liquid hydrogen is the signature fuel of the American space program.” I can’t unpack it here but consider this fact:  hydrogen is the most abundant element on earth.“ 

This means the production, storage, and transportation of hydrogen will become a major industry that can safely replace fossil fuel industries and create many jobs where the logistics and skill sets are largely the same. 

So, why is the left so committed to EVs when a better option may be available?
