Professor A.D. Carson (AKA "Aydee the Great") discusses "academic rap," Black Studies, insights on his album and mixtap/e/ssay 'i used to love to dream'. This episode offers strategies for scholars, students, and arts communities to think about the intersections of genre, sound, form, multimodality, and race. The Poetry Vlog Season 4 debuts with a special edition where you can listen (for free!!!) and read the full mixtap/e/ssay 'i used to love to dream' online. This is because of the incredible work being done for Open Access Scholarship by the University of Michigan Press' Fulcrum.

NEW CONTRIBUTIONS:

After last week's email, some queried:

"Can I just donate if I'm already subscribed?"

This gave the push create a donation form on the website under "Support."

It's in a clunky "beta" stage because this year has been...this year. But, if you would like to contribute any amount, I've created light credit tiers to implement in February. I hope to add thank you gifts, like books, letters, more books, teaching materials, etc. Stay tuned!

Transparency: I (C. R.) pay to run this free education project out of pocket. All funds raised will go toward reimbursing existing costs to produce the project and to hiring freelancers and undergraduate students (like current producer Esat Tunagur) at an equitable wage. If you would like a breakdown of those costs, email me and I will with happiness provide it.
