Dear Friends,

As so many people talk about...I've had my share of significant life changes in the last couple of years.  Beginning last September I started experiencing a surprising crescendo of events that have resulted in some really big life shifts.  A 6-month poetry course has proven to be very helpful in navigating all that has come forward for me.  The course title says it all: "Death's Door: Dying into Life, Living into Death."

I'm going with the flow as best I can and... 

whenever possible

I catch the wave and stand up and surf.

I was invited to join a wonderful grouping of 7 other artists sharing their work: Gordon Coons, Wendy Heimsness, Brenda Litman, Ann Magnusson, S. Catrin Magnusson, Ellen Moses and Marvin Wise.  I am a particular fan of Marvin Wise's work as we share building studio space.  

This is a security-entrance condo building so be sure to visit during business hours and ring the front buzzer.  Better yet, call ahead at 612-339-5716.  You will find art in the lobby, in the mailroom and outside the elevators on all of the floors.

2022 MRAC Arts Impact for Individuals Grant 

Community Engagement & Basketry

The funds are designed to stimulate and encourage the creation, performance, and appreciation of the arts in the seven-county metropolitan area of MN.  

79 proposals were chosen out of 158 submissions.  I was awarded funding to address the mental health of individuals/communities through monthly art-making gatherings building collaborative baskets at Vail Place. This project will culminate in an end of the year group exhibition with presentation. Check out all 2022 recipients here.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Successful Completion 

From October 2021 - February 2022, I committed 2 1/2 hours of class time for each of the 12 Work of Art units.  I completed all the related exercises to update my business skills and am ready to forge ahead with whatever calls to me next.
