Event Spotlight II

August 19, 7 pm: Rising Tide - The Crossroads Project

ChamberFest Brown County is thrilled to welcome the Fry Street Quartet. Hailed by the New York Times as "a triumph of ensemble playing," this remarkable quartet will be taking part in two of our events during festival week. The first is a cinematic performance entitled Rising Tide: The Crossroads Project - a moving meditation on nature and the environment using music, images and words - which will be screened at the Brown County High School Auditorium on Thursday evening. "Rising Tide: The Crossroads Project has been an important part of our artistic and personal lives for nearly 10 years now," says the Fry Street Quartet. "The combination of Dr. Robert Davies’ poetic science delivery with powerful imagery and moving, emotional string quartet music has proven to be really effective with audiences.  We’ve performed the live performance version over 40 times in 3 different countries to more than 12,000 people.  We’re excited to introduce the next chapter in the life of the project, which is this new film version!"

This will be a free, non-ticketed event. Check out the film trailer here:

August 20, 7 pm: Dvorak's Piano Quintet

On Friday evening the Fry Street Quartet join our Artistic Director Andreas Ioannides in a colorful program featuring Dvorak's sunny piano quintet in A, op. 81. The performance will take place at the Nashville United Methodist Church.

"The Dvorak Piano Quintet is one of the most beloved pieces in the repertoire, and we love coming back to it every time!" says the Fry Street Quartet. "What an honor it is to collaborate with such an ensemble," adds Andreas. "I can't wait to share this pastoral music with our Nashville audience."

All festival events at the United Methodist Church are free admission, but we strongly recommend you ensure your seat by reserving it online.
