ISSUE 14, April 2022

Welcome to my April newsletter!

It's been a crazy month for me as my hubby and I are currently apartment hunting. My dream is to have my own craft room! :) But even though I hope to eventually have more space, I am planning to keep downsizing my craft supplies. I still feel overwhelmed with the amount I have and also feel more creative coming up with ideas using less fancy supplies.

If you have any suggestions or ideas you want to see here, please just drop me an email at 49dragonflies@gmail.com.

I'm continuing my decluttering series on April 5th. In this upcoming episode I'm addressing suggestions you have made after watching episode 1. You can find the full playlist below.

BRAND NEW IN MY SHOP!

My latest kit is called "Felix Fox and the Gang". The pastel colors give it a spring vibe and I know I'm not the only one in love with foxes! :) As I continue to do my best to improve my kits, I added some new ephemera shapes for you this time. In addition to my monthly background pages, ephemera pages and clip art, I of course also created the monthly planner kits: April monthly, weeklies and trackers with backgrounds, planner pages without dates (this month for the first time also available as a weekly double spread for more writing space, fun planner notes, and of course my monthly planner freebies.

EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK

Need some inspiration to use your washi tape? I have a video coming up on March 29th showing you how I use washi on journaling cards in an international collaboration organized by Anne at MeadowBookJournaling. Anne has a couple videos up for this challenge, as well as a playlist for her March prompts, and you can participate as well! So, let's show some support and check out her videos for more info about this challenge! :)

WHAT'S ON MY DESK

I enjoy my me time with my new planner! This is a double spread I had left empty to play on in my March signature. I started by adding some textures on opposite corners of the spread, covered them with gesso, added some distress oxides and crackling paste. I wasn't sure where to go from there, but a few days later the other colorful March pages inspired me, to add a few more boho-themed elements like leaves, feathers and a boho-poem to match the rest of my March Boho-Birds theme. You can see the final result in my upcoming Plan with me May video.

FREEBIE

If you missed this freebie I created for my 40K YouTube subscriber milestone, please feel free to download it here. And maybe you have not entered the give-away yet? You can still join the drawing for it until Tuesday, March 29th! Don't miss the chance to win one of the AMAZING sponsored prizes by writing a comment under this video.

FEATURING Venessa from South Africa

In this section I like to present projects created by my viewers.

Here is some info Venessa sent me:

"My full name is Venessa le Roux (nee) Terblanche.  I am from South Africa, living in the Eastern Cape in a town called Uitenhage (Pronounced in Dutch).

I am 56 years old and a crafter my whole life.   I’ve been junk journaling for almost a year now and I went onto YT and searched “Diaries/Journal DIY” and as I am a Dragon Fly fanatic (besides Peacocks LOL) your YT name popped up first and I immediately started watching your videos and the rest is history….

I’m addicted and it was also through you that I started watching videos of Luise Heinzl and thank you for that too."
