Arranging Visits

Booking room visits online and in advance is no longer required. Since the restrictions changed in April, we have been keeping a close eye on visits and the visiting procedure. It was decided that booking these visits online and in advance is no longer necessary, which will give all relatives and friends more opportunities to come and visit their loved ones.

The following points do still apply:

  • You must sign in and out when entering the building (sign in sheet is located at reception)

  • Visiting times in our Home are between the hours of 10:30am and 8:00pm. We do have protected mealtimes, meaning no visits should be taking place during the below times (not including essential carers/end of life visits):

  • 08:00am and 11:00am

  • 12:00pm and 1:00pm

  • 4:00pm and 5:30pm

  • Any children under 16 must be supervised during the visit and these visits must take place in the resident's room.

    Respecting our Residents

Please be reminded that by visiting our lounges, you are entering the Home of our residents. The nature of our residents' illnesses present in different ways and some residents are in the more advanced stages of their illnesses. Some residents can be more vocal, some may invade your personal space, so please remember that you may be seen as a stranger in their home. We ask that you show respect to all residents in the lounge and understand that our staff know our residents well, including their likes, dislikes and when they require attention.

    Staff Safety

We have a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of abuse to our staff members. Any visitors who do abuse our staff members will be asked to leave and will be restricted from entering the Home.

Visitors must respect that staff members are in their workplace and should not be distracted from their duties.

Shannon Court Newspaper

We recently started a Shannon Court Newspaper for (and by!) our residents. The residents really enjoy getting involved in this and have been busy writing articles for other residents and relatives to read.

We've found it's nice to include a few biographies or stories about our residents in the paper, all of our residents have done some amazing things in their lives, so we would love if you could share some stories with us you wouldn't mind being shared in our upcoming papers.

The newspaper is not published online, it is shared with our residents and relatives in the Home.

If you have any interesting stories you would like to share about your relatives at our Home, please send them to Maria.williams@shannoncourt.uk

Thanks everyone.

Thank you once again for joining our mailing list. We look forward to seeing you all again soon, stay safe!
