Spring 2021 Newsletter

Greetings from Tucson, Arizona where the Sonoran Desert is on the verge of its enchanting spring bloom. I've recently completed virtual portfolio reviews for Medium Photo Festival, FotoFest International Meeting Place 2021 Virtual Portfolio Review, the Month of Photography Denver, and wrap up my spring schedule with Social Documentary Network’s event April 3rd. We are all adjusting to online virtual reviews; they are affordable, international, focused, and I believe are here to stay.  My recent white paper on this new learning experience can be found on my website (“Free Documents” under PUBLICATIONS) and clickable from my Instagram bio’s Linktr.ee offerings.

Happy Spring, everyone!  Stay well and stay creative,

 Mary Virginia

MEDIUM PHOTO FESTIVAL LECTURE

It was a pleasure to present my lecture "Being Followed and Being Found: Social Media Strategies for Photographers" at Medium Photo Festival earlier this month along with special guests Barbara Tannenbaum (Cleveland Museum of Art) and Geoffrey Koslov (Foto Relevance, Houston). Their insights into how they use social media in their professions to find artists and to connect to a wider audience was truly valuable.
