Building Bonds and Swinging Success: April's Omega Lamplighters Session Recap

In April, we teamed up with the Kappa Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. for our monthly Omega Lamplighters Mentoring session. We kicked off with an exciting Black History Trivia on Kahoot, then dove into a discussion led by Dr. Gerald Ware on "See It Through: Navigating Life’s Challenges as a Young Man." Congratulations to Jason Locke, our trivia champ who'll receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card!

The Bridge Builder Collective's April in-person session with the Omega Lamplighters, in collaboration with the Kappa Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was a memorable and enriching experience for all involved. Mentors and mentees gathered for a day of camaraderie and skill-building at Top Golf, where they delved into the fundamentals of golf under the guidance of experienced instructors.

The mentees were eager learners, soaking in the knowledge imparted by the instructors and enthusiastically participating in various games and activities. From mastering the swing to perfecting their aim, each mentee embraced the challenges of the game with determination and enthusiasm.

Following the golf session, the group reconvened for a well-deserved lunch, where they shared stories, laughter, and bonded over their newfound golf experiences. To cap off the day, each mentee was pleasantly surprised with a goodie bag, a token of appreciation for their participation and dedication.

Special thanks were extended to the mentors and the staff at Top Golf for their invaluable contributions in making the event a success. Their support and guidance were instrumental in creating a positive and enriching environment for the mentees, fostering growth, and building lasting connections.

The April in-person session served as a testament to the power of mentorship, collaboration, and community-building, leaving a lasting impact on all participants and reinforcing the mission of The Bridge Builder Collective and the Omega Lamplighters.
