I'm back. After a month in China, two months of photographing for my solo show at the Victorian Pride Centre and getting the first exhibition of the year up at XYZ Photo Gallery I'm now back to reimagine this email.

You will notice that the PhotoSceneVic has changed, a lot. I have been getting frustrated that I missed really important exhibitions and opportunities. I decided that we need to do things differently.

1. This newsletter is now a sampler, not everything, let's be honest it was out of control - huge.

2. The role of the newsletter is to bring you to https://reframe-refocus.xyz which has way more information

3. The website will be updated weekly, so if I miss something, you still get to see it.

4. Book mark the website and check it weekly for all the latest, I will start using the @photoscenevic to alert you to the lastest

5. as always if I've missed something or a business has closed down or opened, let me know.

 Our goal is to reach as many people as we can and bring the photo community in Victoria together to know and experience all that we have. Each month our long term content moves to reframe-refocus.xyz for look, buy/fix, hire, labs and previous newsletters so that you can view a full list of what is here.

Hasn’t been seen, doesn’t mean does not exist, on this journey of discovering the very little exposed Chinese mainland fetish scene in artistic form has been an eye opener and mind blast for me. This once considered conservative culture has evolved and finding it’s own style to express it’s  passion and desire.

This exhibition is just a small glimpse into what’s out there in the underground queer scene of China, which I found stylish, edgy and experimental.

District Darkroom - Coburg Link

The foundations of the black and white darkroom workshop. We’ll cover everything from the multi-step film development process to creating archival black and white prints. Working alongside our experienced lab technicians students will learn all aspects of film development, how to use the enlarger, basic printing steps, how contrast filters work, paper processing, and more advanced printing techniques like dodging and burning and toning for effect and archiving of prints.
