Sid had a busy month (when has she NOT?!). She took in a fresh batch of kittens in Mid-October! Four Females! All of these girls will be ready for adoption on Thanksgiving! Right now, they are enjoying the last few weeks they will have with their momma kitty. That mom will get spayed and returned to her owner. When Sid takes litters into the rescue, she requires the owner to allow Sid to spay the mom to prevent further litters in the future. I think this is brilliant! Sid works REALLY HARD and requiring animal owners to take responsibility where they can. So many kittens got adopted in October: Bear, Fang, TJ, Gretta, Piper, Ella, Jason, Freddy, Chucky, Bonnie, and Clyde! This is a huge success and Sid is beyond grateful for your love and support that allowed us to provide these sweeties with what they deserved. I want to thank Sid for her work in coordinating all of that. It takes TIME! Just as important as the direct care and coordination of adoptions, Sid has been taking countless webinars and attending live training and conferences to learn all she can about running a rescue in the most successful way possible: from fundraising for a non-profit to how to bottle feed kittens to doing more care on-site to reduce costs. Thank you for all your support! Sid is pretty humble about what she does, but please know she is working her tail off every single day to save as many animals as she can. |

Available Animals: Maylin (female, 1-2 years old) - a sweet girl, she gets along with dogs and kids - just not with other kitty cats! She is currently housed at the rescue. Scream (Male, 3 months old ) - sweetest little thing. He WAS very chatty when he first came in, but has mellowed out is is soooo sweet. His last litter-mate goes to their forever home on Monday, October 31st. We don't want Scream to spend a night alone! Hal(loween) and Jack(-o-lantern)(males, 4 months old) are brothers and a bonded pair. Their adoption fee is $250 total (instead of $150 per kitten). They get along with other cats, dogs, and kids and are in foster care now. Pumpkin and Gizmo (males, 4 months old) are brothers and in foster care right now. They are both super playful and get along with kids and dogs and other cats.

Wish List We appreciate all you have done to help us, a few things we are needing help with for the month of November: Dog Fosters -We are desperate and have no room to take in dogs. Shares on FB and Insta to get the rest of these babies adopted (the more cats we get adopted, the more we can help and take in). Cat & Kitten food- can be found on our website for links to our wish list. Paper towels (any kind). A step-stool for the rescue - one that could hang on the wall, it is a small space!

October Accomplishments: Critters and Critter Care These are 100% all Sidney. I do not understand how she does so much! Seriously. Took in 5 new cats. Adopted out 10 kittens and cats. Cared for all of the kitties all month: food, water, litter, deep cleans of kennels, vet visits, and lots of socialization. This is almost a full-time job in itself! Sid learned how do to all kinds of new things for the animals! (She is always learning!!!) The rescue can now do our own Micro-chipping! This saves us money! Sidney had training from her friend Jess in Denver, CO.

October Accomplishments: Necessary Non-Critter Items Thank you to Jordan for all his work on getting the finishing touches done on the rescue building. Installed ventilation and completed the siding for the rescue building. Purchased a propane heater and prepaid for propane for the winter. Finished paying the legal fees for establishing the rescue. Had the rescue building officially inspected for licencing (we were ALREADY licenced of course, this was the Veterinarian inspection). That went really well, the only change we made was to designate space in a completely separate building for quarantining animals if/when needed.

Our next BIG project: Dog Rescue Building. Sid has been contacted frequently in the past weeks about dogs that are in need of a safe place until they find their forever homes. When starting the rescue, the need for a cat shelter in the area was easy to see, but the need for physical space for dogs was less apparent. Well it is apparent now! So we are starting to fund raise to build a simple shelter building that could house up to 6 adult dogs at one time. This will cost about $50,000. We will keep you updated our progress! |
