Happy Friday and Easter Weekend!

Here is a quick snapshot of the Top Shelf items I am obsessing over this week!

A favorite or new recipe, a book/quote/podcast/etc, and last but not least, a song I cannot get out of my head. So excited to share them with you in the hope of bringing something

new and inspiring into your day!

Just Yum.

Tony and I go way back. We will not get into how I butcher his name here, but suffice it to say, it's bad. I go through multiple canisters a year and if I notice you don't have it in your kitchen, rest assured, the next time I visit you will.

HOWEVER, the couple of dismissive times I came across this little gem on the shelf, I always assumed it was "low sodium" due to the familiar blue color on the label. Mind you, it doesn't say this, but in a cursory glance, I would just look right over it and reach for the ever-faithful original version and move on as if I hadn't missed something important.

A huge thank you to my girl, Jonna, for adding this to my foodie goodie bag she brought back from her trip home to New Orleans this year. I have literally used it on just about everything. My favorites so far are pan-seared boneless pork chops, sauteed yellow squash, and a throw-together butter/pepper/lemon/spinach "pasta for one" I have been making quite a bit lately. (That recipe will be coming soon!)

Y'all. Just go buy it. It will not disappoint. All the good of the original... just herbed up!

All Hail the Coloring Book!

I simply cannot express how much my heart has been encouraged by this book so far! While I haven't finished, I can tell you that Chapter 1 was a profound reminder of "The Power of Small."

"But once in a while, you want to allow yourself the pleasure of a small feat. You're gonna need to step back and rest your brain from all the hard problems and wearing thoughts because the hard problems and wearing thoughts will always be there, largely unfinished and mostly unfixed. The holes will always be big. The answers, slow to come. So in the meantime, claim a small victory and understand that it's ok to be productive in a small way... Find one thing you can actively complete and give yourself over to it...

allow yourself the gift of absorption."

(Minute 33:29 in audio book)

Tunneling my attention to something small and immediate to calm, bring comfort, or sharpen focus works every time. She knits. I do not knit. But I do love to fill a page in a coloring book, finish a word find, or cook a yummy meal for one.

How can you harness the power of small?

I dare you to give it a try today!

"The Light We Carry" on Goodreads

If I've been on your social media radar for the last couple weeks, you should have seen this one coming.

Empowerment. Individuality. Resilience.

These are the themes that are spun throughout Taylor's lyrics and videos.

"Because these things will change. Can you feel it now?" (Change, 2008)

"And for the first time, what's past is past" (Begin Again, 2009)

"But I keep cruisin'. Can't stop, won't stop groovin'" (Shake It Off, 2014)

"We all got crowns" (You Need to Calm Down, 2019)

"I can still make the whole place shimmer." (Bejeweled,2022)

Her music is a cheer to never give up, hold fast to true friendship, stand up for yourself and each other...

and never quit.

I could not agree more. Keep Shining.
