NEWS FROM DR. REID Dear St. Patrick Families, As we enter the season of Lent, I greet you in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the peace and power of the Holy Spirit. Let us focus on prayer, fasting, and learning to be more generous. Many cool things are happening in school. Check out our students coding and plotting a path for their mouse to find the cheese. |

Grandparents Day was a success. Thank you to the folks who were able to attend. If your grandparent was not able to attend, no worries, the students made bookmarks for their grandparents to send to them. |

Don’t forget to have your students complete the reading challenge form. The challenge is optional and due on Tuesday, February 21st. Students who complete all the squares will get a prize. The class with the highest participation (all squares) will also get a prize. St. Patrick’s Day will be here before you know it and the deadline to order shirts is quickly approaching. Please check the links below to order your St. Patrick’s Day t-shirts. The 5th graders t-shirt sizes are due this Saturday, February 18th, for our kindergarten through 4th grade students, their t-shirt sizes and payment are due, Monday, February 20th. Mid-term reports go home today. Please wear Mass uniforms on Ash Wednesday, February 22nd. Please wear Mass uniforms every Friday. PTO Pancake Supper on Tuesday, February 21st and starts at 5:30pm. There is no school on Friday, February 17th and Monday the 20th. Have a wonderful weekend. |

COVID PROTOCOLS We want to thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe and healthy. As we move into the second half of our school year we will be following our diocesan infectious disease policy for COVID. This means that should an individual contract COVID, they will be able to return to school after 24 hours fever free and symptom improvement. This aligns with how we currently manage all communicable diseases throughout our school communities. We are grateful for your collaboration to help maintain our safe environment. |

SOCKS NEEDED! On Feb 28th, student council is organizing a school-wide service project to support the humane society. The students will pair up with their prayer partners and make dog toys. We've been collecting water bottles but now we need socks! Please have your child bring in a pair of new knee high socks by Friday, Feb. 24th. |

CHECKERS SPIRIT NIGHT Saturday, Mar. 25th at 4pm, St. Patrick’s will have a spirit night to cheer on the Charlotte Checkers! We have one section completely reserved for St. Patrick families and the link will select the best available seats in the section. It will not allow you to pick the exact seats, but we do have the whole section currently reserved. Our 5th Graders will also be able to Hi-Five the players in the tunnel at intermission! Parking is also included. $5 of every ticket goes back to the school. | | |

BIRTHDAY TREATS Students are permitted to bring in store-bought (not homemade) treats to celebrate their birthdays with their class during lunch. Families have the option to purchase ice cream from the cafeteria for the birthday boy/girl and/or for the whole class to celebrate a birthday. Ice cream orders must be placed with Mrs. Loeber, the cafeteria manager, at least one week prior to the date to ensure enough ice cream is available for the class to participate.
