WELL THANK YOU

It was a very nice surprise indeed - we picked up Best Cinematography at the Twin Tiers Film International Festival in Norwich, NY a few weeks back.  Return To Hardwick was nominated in three categories - Best Documentary, Best Director and Best Cinematography.

Director Michael Sellers picks up Best Cinematography at the Twin Tiers Festival.

Eric Gordon picked up Best Documentary for his film When All That's Left Is Love .  I was able to meet Eric a month ago at the Royal Starr Film Festival where he and I also competed for Best Documentary.  It seems that the film gods have even the odds (Hardwick one Best Documentary at Royal Starr) and we are both fine with that.  His film is a very powerful account about his father battling Alzheimer's.

I've been meeting a lot of nice people at the museum screenings and film festivals I have attended so far this year.  October is also going to be a busy month.

THREE IN A WEEK

Okay, hold your breath . . .

I start a six hour drive on Saturday to Lewiston, Maine.  I'll be attending the Emerge Film Festival and a screening of Return To Hardwick that evening.  The festival has nominated the film for Best Documentary and Best In Festival - very nice of them.  The next morning I'm jumping on a plane and zipping to Cleveland, Ohio to attend a screening at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival.  This is a special visit because I will meet up with Hardwick producer Jean Koznarek.  Jean's father, Henry was a waist gunner in the 93rd Bomb Group and the festival has dedicated the screening in his honor.  They have also nominated the film for a Rotary Club "Service Above Self" Award.  Jean and I will head out for drinks if we win!  I'll jump in a rental car two days later and head to Detroit.  The Detroit metro area is this year's location for the 93rd Bomb Group reunion.  We have an exciting four days planned for everyone attending.  The documentary is scheduled to screen at Eastern Michigan University that Friday.  Follow along on Facebook or the 93rd BG website - we will be webcasting most of the events!  (please note you will not be able to see the film over the webcast)

Phew!  Please check out all the details at www.hardwickfilm.com.

NEWS YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED

Director Michael Sellers was interviewed by the awesome YouTubers duo, Robert Holland and Jeffery Marshall from Attack On Show.  The second Michael arrived, he was whisked on over to these very special guys (laying it on thick here for sure).

RETURN TO HARDWICK

 SYNOPSIS

The 93rd Bomb Group was the most decorated, most traveled and most effective bomb group of WWII.  Helping to cripple Hitler's Europe from the air, they executed some of the most daring bombing raids of the war.  Along with the group's rich history - sons, daughters and grandchildren travel to England and explore the 93rd's long forgotten airbase - Hardwick Aerodrome 104.
