New Grant Program

Last year we implemented a new individual grant program to aid promising young players with some private/semi-private lessons.  We recognize that there are beginning players who have hidden tennis talents and we want to make it easier for families to honor those talents. We have utilized coaches from our major grant programs to help us identify these players.

This year we have two young players from the Woodland Tennis Academy who have shown a strong interest in perfecting their tennis skills.  They are currently sharing a semi-private series of lessons. They will also be sponsored by JTFS in one of the SATA Grand Prix events in this calendar year.  We are constantly looking for ways to further the growth of tennis among our youth.

JTFS Grants at Work

In 2017 JTFS awarded a grant to the City of Woodland and Woodland Tennis Club.  The goal was to create a new participant youth tennis scholarship program. As a requirement to receive and implement a grant JTFS requires a use of funds report from the grant recipient.  JTFS is pleased to report the program was very successful.

Scholarships were awarded to children ages 6-16.  Sessions took place over a 10-week period and total participant hours were 244.  In the age group 6-9 there was a total of 22 participants and ages 10-16 had 21 participants.  Overall the grant provided tennis lessons for 43 children ages 6-16 over a 10-week period.

This is all made possible by members and donors like you.  JTFS’s goals are to continue to grow our membership, seek out corporate sponsorships and to serve the underserved youth in the tennis community.    THANK YOU!
