Friday Update

With our second week of class coming to an end, we hope you have noticed some of the care of self & environment skills your little one has learned with us.   For instance, are they pushing in their chair after dinner?  Or, do they enjoy helping you clean your shoes?  We'd love to hear what you've noticed!

This week we also taught a few social courtesies, such as introducing one's self with a handshake and music appreciation, starting with the William Tell Overture.

Here are some of the "How To's" we are teaching and practicing this month:

  • How to look at a book
  • How to wash hands
  • How to use the bathroom
  • How to get a drink of water
  • How to hang up a jacket
  • How to set up for lunch
  • How to clean up from lunch
  • How to put on a jacket
  • What to do for a spill (table)
  • What to do for a spill (floor)
  • How to introduce a friend
  • How to watch
  • How to sit quietly
  • How to walk on the line
  • Listening to music
  • How to shut a door

This week we made many strides in developing focus.  Here is a video of our youngest learner engrossed in bead stringing:
