Among the many observations about the life of the Apostle Paul, we can clearly state that he had a single focus.  He said about himself:  My purpose is to finish my course [God’s agenda for his life] and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.  Acts 20.24

We know that the general will of God for our lives is The Great Commandment and The Great Commission.  But what is the specific will of God that is unique to each person?  What is my purpose and the specific course my life should run on to advance God’s kingdom message and ministry?

It is here where Intersect can add value through discovery of how God has shaped you to point you in the direction of your purpose.  The journey is a process that can be guided through coaching that lands on the foundation of Scripture.   It is there we find the truth about God - what he says about us - and his power to change our lives for his glory.

It has been exciting to see God unfold his purpose in various ways over these last 2 months!

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

In July, we finished another Lifeworkx leadership event.  One of the participants said:  I was able to let go of a something from my childhood that has kept me stuck all of these 50 yrs.  Through Lifeworkx, I found a breakthrough and I have been set free to be me!

At the end of this month, I will be leading another Leadership event with Lifeworkx.  And we now have a date for a Leadership training for Pastors and Leaders in Nairobi, Kenya in March of 2023, using Lifeworkx as the platform for equipping and training.  We are looking forward to working with Pastor Kimuyu and other pastors and leaders.

As followers of Jesus, there is someone on the other side who is waiting for our obedience.  Someone is looking for hope and a new beginning found in Jesus.  A long the way, God brought a few of those on the other side across my path.

Jordan discovered that God was with him through a drug overdose, and that Jesus has given him the power to overcome his past.

Nevaeh had some experience with God in church when she was younger, but she wanted to know how to take the next with him.  Nevaeh made a decision to follow Jesus in the middle of Starbucks!  Praise God for the work of the Holy Spirit in each of these young adults!

There were also spiritual conversations with Crystal about how to handle a relationship wound and with Jay who was trying to find his way out of homelessness.

Our spiritual connections also included the opportunity to officiate a family wedding in Ohio.  it was a beautiful testimony of God’s covenant commitment to each of us through his extravagant love.

Coaching is taking real look at where we are and then asking how do we get to where we believe God wants us to be.  When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead, the pathway becomes clearer and we find movement toward the goal.

Through the Intersect ministry, recent coaching has included:  marital, executive leadership — how to deal with expectations from staff, and financial coaching in how to make debt free decisions.

My family and I recently had a short beach trip, and I must say that God usually shows up in unexpected ways.  On the beach I met Luke and Carly from Pittsburg with their small girls.  Over parts of 2 days, we had the opportunity to coach them over sibling homosexuality and parent’s abortion views.  Both of these issues had created great strain in their sibling and parent relationships.  God gave us wisdom in how to relate in grace and truth.

Our website, discoverintersect.com, is now fully official and we hope God will use it open opportunities for our Intersect ministry. 

Austin, is 2, and he always wants to help. I usually need assistance to see things more clearly!
