National Aphasia Awareness Month |
June is National Aphasia Awareness Month. During June, we chose to focus on a different group of people each week to educate. We educated persons with Aphasia, Family and Friends, Community Members and the General Public. We've shared a variety of resources to empower others to share information and advocate for Aphasia. Visit our website to review the resources that we created and highlighted in honor of National Aphasia Awareness month. Please feel free to print, download and share all of these FREE resources. |

In Case You Missed it: Aphasia Time Capsule Project |
For National Aphasia Awareness Month, Bryn encouraged all persons with Aphasia to participate in her Time Capsule project. When living with Aphasia, it can be hard to acknowledge your progress from day to day. You can still join Bryn by documenting where you are now in your journey and where you want to go. Then NEXT June (2023), revisit your time capsule project and reflect on the progress you have made! We have provided a form for you to fill out independently or with the help of a care partner. However, we encourage you to RECORD your answers on video so you can SEE and HEAR yourself next year, and observe how far you have come.

NEW RESOURCE: Navigating Aphasia Resources |
Often we hear from our clients, "I wish I knew about these resources sooner," or "I did not get any information from the hospital." This resource aims to change that. It is a succinct list which highlights the most popular Aphasia resources available. We hope that you will print this handout and distribute it to your local hospitals so that it can be shared with those newly diagnosed with Aphasia.

Aphasia recovery is a slow road with an often windy path. However, we know that with continued speech and language treatment, progress can be made. In my latest blog, I provide suggestions on how to use a bit of creativity and take control of your own recovery by building your own home practice program.
