How much more, Lord, will you provide for us, love us, lead and guide us!? How much more, Lord, will you straighten our paths, open new doors, create new opportunities to share the gospel, develop new relationships centered on you, oh Lord!? ~Above and beyond all we that we ask or think!! Ephesians 3:20-21
20 Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— 21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. |

The past few months have been crazy busy, yet still at the same time. There are times I feel like we are moving a thousand miles an hour, yet not going anywhere. Brad has been busy working on the property, doing recon trips to Angola, holding morning devotions (while organizing meals for himself and the rest of the team), speaking at churches, doing Farming God's Way Training, field visits, bible studies, hut to hut ministry, all while managing to be the best husband I could have ever asked for.
I feel like I am on the other side of it now, and able to share it with all of you. In September we found out that we were expecting, we were so happy!!! However, I had morning sickness, as many women normally do! I had a hard time keeping food down, and none of the things that sounded good are available here. So needless to say, I was exhausted and nauseous pretty much all the time. I had a hard time participating in ministry activities, with the long drives, bumpy roads, and a hole in the ground as a bathroom. I have spent the majority of the past two months in Solwezi (where another team is located with a house). I didn't make a big reveal because I know the danger of sharing too soon. However, I thought for sure that we were in the clear. Most people say that if you get sick you will have a healthy pregnancy, but that wasn't the journey that the Lord had for us. Painfully, I want to share with you that we lost the baby. It was the hardest thing we've been through together, and to make things even more difficult it happened on thanksgiving, at eleven and a half weeks. I've seen a lot, done a lot, and been through a lot in my life, but I think this was the hardest thing I have ever been through. But even though it was hard, and painful... we knew everything was going to be okay. We knew that God had a plan, and we trusted that whatever happened, happened for a reason. And through the heartbreak and the tears, we were able to stay focused on the positive; on the one who calls us by name, the one who loves us unconditionally, we were able to find our light in the darkness. No matter how bad, how hard, how painful, or dark the situation is... you have a choice. You have a choice to hang your head and focus on the problem, or to lift it high and gaze upon the one who gave it all for you, the One who is and was and is to come, to focus on the light. Science tells us that the moon gives light by reflecting the radiance of the sun. In the same way we should strive to posture ourselves in a way that will always reflect the Son, no matter the situation. When we are squeezed in our toughest moments, do we want junk and brokenness to come out? or do we want Jesus to come out? It's up to you! Are you going to fight to stay in the light, or are you going to hide in the darkness? This journey has taught me many things, but I believe that Brad and I have both come out of it stronger, and closer to God and each other because of it. Because of that we decided to name the baby Luna, as a symbol and remembrance that no matter how dark it gets, the darkness can never consume the light. And that even on the darkest days, the light will always guide your way. Be encourgaged today, the night is always darkest before the dawn!
Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Easily one of the most thrilling testimonies from the past few months was our opportunity in Angola. For those that don't know, where our property is located we are only 90 minutes from the Angolan border. Which was a big factor in why we came to Northwest Zambia. Angolan borders and officials can be very difficult, much more difficult at times than Zambian government. But also, the northeast area of Angola (known as the Moxico Province) is very remote with almost zero development and many people don't know the Lord. Everything we heard up to this point was that we had no options of crossing the border near us as its normally only for Zambian and Angolan citizens, considering how remote of a crossing it is. In November Brad felt like God was inviting us to test the waters to see what would happen. With that, Brad, Paul and Graham (our ministry partner) set out on a journey to the border. Brad already has a 2 year visa for Angola that he applied for last year and he was believing that it would be enough. Upon arriving at the border we began meeting and ministering to the officials and boy was it good! While we were meeting with the Angolan officials, we explained that we were worried that we wouldn't be able to cross there. One of the officials reply was a miracle, (translated form Portuguese) "Today is a great day, in all my years at this post I have never seen anyone pass that wanted to bring a message like this to the Angolan people. It's always about money and goods. Today I know God is seeing us, how could I prevent you from sharing this message from God? Our people need this". PRAISE THE LORD!!! So with that we made and agreement and are now free to pass as the Lord leads. After this, they drove about 50 miles on what Brad calls the worst road he has ever seen. It took them over 5 hours to go 50 miles!! They arrived in an area called Calunda and met with several chiefs, including a senior chief to show respect to tribal authorities and introduce themselves to the people. This place needs Jesus! Witchcraft is destroying their people. In this area there are 5 chiefs and in the 5 chiefdom's there is only 1 school, 1 clinic and 3 churches......that's insane! Of the 3 churches only a few people had bibles and most leaders couldn't even read them. Please be in prayer with us to see how we can effectively reach and bless these beautiful people. |

In September, we had the honor of being special guests at the Chisemwa Cha Lunda Ceremony for Senior Chief Kanongesha. We have built a very good relationship with the Senior Chief and have been so excited about all God is doing in his chiefdom. It was a privilege to learn more about the Lunda people and their traditions, and a joy to be able to capture some of the powerful moments that we witnessed. It was a great day! But it was the night before that I want to focus on. We were given the opportunity to speak to hundreds of people about Jesus and the life He comes to bring! Afterwards a smaller group of people joined us to learn more and hear stories about Jesus. Our favorite moment came from a 16 year old boy named Rickson. At one point he fell to his knees in tears because he heard the gospel and realized how he had been missing God’s will for his life. He and another 15 people decided to give their lives to Christ!!! Praise God, beginning of forever! Another side note that was a very powerful moment came from Senior Chief himself. In the Lunda tradition when you greet the Chief you get on your knees and touch the dirt with your hands, then touch your chest (signifying your servitude), then you roll from side to side on the ground (to show your humility). At one point during the ceremony while the Chief was addressing the people, he chose to do the same tradition in honor of the Chief of Chiefs and King of Kings, Jesus Christ!! It was such a powerful moment for the Chief himself to do that in front of His people!!! Thank you so much everyone for praying about the ceremony!! God was on the move. |

In early October we arranged to have a large gathering of headmen in the Kanongesha chiefdom. We wanted to meet the local leaders, formerly introduce ourselves, explain why we have come to Zambia, teach several important topics and take questions from the group. Needless to say it was AMAZING. We had 62 headmen gathered representing thousands of households through out the chiefdom. INCREDIBLE!!! We covered topics like "the New Creation", "The Gospel", "Servant Leadership", and "the Great Commission". Most of the headmen are viewed in the villages as the link to witchcraft, which then the headmen wear as their identity. However, we came to explain that all authority on earth was given by God according to the bible and that they were chosen purposefully by God to lead their people into the Kingdom of God. This was easily the topic that caught most of them off guard. They were so excited to learn that their position was from God and not ancestral spirits and because of that they could then live for Christ and lead righteously. Hallelujah!! |

For those that aren't aware, we are building a missions base here in Zambia. The vision is big, and the opportunities are bigger! Its on a 1000 acre piece of land that was gifted to us by Chief Kanongesha in order to bring the Gospel and the hope and change that comes with it. We were in the process of building a bridge that crossed a small river to get to our property but unfortunately the rains came earlier this year, so we had to postpone the building of the bridge. Instead we have made a temporary bridge that we will use for now and are hoping that it will last through the rainy season! Now we have shifted to prepping the land for bigger building projects next year. Over the next 3-4 months we are hoping to accomplish the following: 1) Pour several concrete slabs to protect our tents from flooding==========$500 2) Plant ~50 fruit trees for local consumption in the years to come========$500 3) Purchase a 2 ton hauling trailer==============================$2,500 4) Install a water tank and piping to pump water from the river==========$1,500 5) Build a basic bathroom block===============================$5,000 Total= $10,000 Below is a link to a video with more information on the overall base development, If you feel led to donate towards any of these projects you can click on the donate button right below!! |

We recently planted a garden and hosted a farming gods way training with all of our workers and key people. If you are unfamiliar, Farming Gods Way is a teaching that shows people that God desires to manifest His goodness in every aspect of their lives including their fields. It follows conservation farming techniques that are easily reproducible on a local level, but reveals how God's faithfulness has allowed them to prosper when we choose to obey His ways! They were on the fence at the beginning, but by the end they were really excited! Most people or governemnt programs place heavy emphasis on chemical fertilizers and hybrid seeds, which are expensive and hard for people in rural areas to make use of. This way shows how God has already given us everything we need for life and Godliness (2 Peter 1:3). We pray that the Lord will bless their fields and that they will see a plentiful harvest, and that their faith in God will grow through the testimony of their fields! And that their faith and their fields will be a testimony to their neighbors and an opportunity for them to share what God is doing in their lives. |
