#WiNspire Turkey session

On September 18, WiNspire: meet-up Turkey took place, this time in online format, which had more than thirty attendees.
 

This version featured three speakers in which Bahire Gul Goktepe from Women in Nuclear Turkey , Prof. Dr. Sule Ergun from Hacettepe University and Dr. Senem Senturk Lule from Istanbul Technical University discuss the the possibilities of professional development, advantages, and challenges in nuclear energy sectors. It was a fruitful session full of enthusiasm.

 

We thank the WiN Turkey entities and the Istanbul Technical University for their collaboration in carrying out the activity, and our representative Fadime Ozge Ozkan for her organization of the event.

Nuclear for change sign petition

Nuclear for Climate is a grassroots initiative co-founded in 2015 after the COP21 conference in Paris. Its mission is to promote dialogue on the key role of Nuclear Energy in achieving Net Zero by 2050.

It gathers over 150 associations, professionals, scientists and enthusiastic volunteers from all around the globe with the goal of educating policymakers and the public about nuclear energy and encouraging its use for those cases where it can be helpful as one of the solutions as a carbon-free energy for the energy transition and to mitigate climate change. Recently they have initiated one Petition on change.org to convince policy makers to include Nuclear Energy in their Climate Policy. Started on 13 July 2023 till date 292 people has sign the petition.

Win Global helps to the goal by encouraging more and more people to sign this petition so that in new policy we will have nuclear energy as a clean energy source provider to the world. So what are you waiting for go and sign the petition soon....

IAEA 67th Conference

The 67th Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference was held from 25 to 29 September 2023 at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) in Vienna, Austria, where high-ranking officials and representatives from IAEA Member States will consider a range of issues.
 

Ray of hope is the cancer treatment initiative taken by IAEA under which many countries showcase how they are doing work and research related to this. Delegates from different countries discussing their nuclear research programs.

As a strong advocate for gender diversity and inclusion in the nuclear sector, WiN Global is committed to promoting its mission on a global scale. We are therefore spearheading a series of events and activities on the margins of the Conference to promote the role of women and their importance in the development and application of nuclear science and technology.

On Wednesday 27 September, WiN Global Exhibition Stand with distinguished guests including Mr. Rafael Grossi (IAEA, Director General), Ms. Dominique Mouillot (WiN Global, President), Ms. Sama Bilbao y León (WNA, General Director) and a special guest of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).

WiN Global’s participation is essential to show our commitment to the nuclear sector and its experts and opinion leaders from around the world who will gather for a week in Vienna to discuss top  issues on the nuclear industry’s agenda. 

30th WiN Global Annual Conference

This year, the WiN Global Annual Conference offers an array of enriching experiences, ranging from thought-provoking conferences to illuminating mentoring sessions, engaging workshops, and inspiring cultural tours, amidst other engaging activities.

 

This conference is a milestone for our organization as it celebrates three decades of WiN Global excellence and marks the inaugural Annual Meeting of WiN Africa, one of our most vibrant regional chapters. In collaboration with the IAEA and AFRA, WiN Africa’s First Annual Meeting is scheduled for November 14th and 15th, adding another layer of significance to our gathering.

The WiN Global Annual Conference is a prestigious event that brings together professionals, experts, researchers, and enthusiasts from the fields of nuclear energy, radiation, and related technologies. With a history spanning three decades, this conference serves as a unique platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among individuals who share a common interest in these critical areas.

#ESSAY COMPETITION

IAEA is launching an essay competition for people between the ages of 18 and 24 years.

The essay should identify current global challenges and posit ways the IAEA – as the world’s center for cooperation in the nuclear field – can make an even greater impact. Essay entries in the form of a speech will also be accepted. The winner will be invited to visit Vienna for a behind the scenes tour of the IAEA headquarters. Essay submissions will be accepted from 20 September to 23 October midnight CET. Essays should be a maximum of 4000 characters and written in English. The use of translators or translation tools is allowed. It is free to enter, and contestants are limited to one entry.

Applications are now open for the specializing Master in Nuclear Safeguards organized by
Politecnico di Milano and the European Nuclear Education Network.
This programme is intended to provide the opportunity for employees working in the nuclear field to enhance and develop competences in nuclear safeguards through a blended format, which consists of online modules, in-person labs and project work.
