GRATITUDE OVERLOAD

As I begin to reflect during this November on the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I am reminded to always keep gratitude in the forefront of my thinking. It brings serenity.

Gratitude chases away negativity and calms the soul. So this month, I wish you a huge burst of gratitude overload!

LAST MONTH'S EGGING!

In October, we "egged" Accelerate4KIDS. Their mission is "to create tomorrow creators by providing quality computer science and STEM education to every child so they too can live a life of opportunity and prosperity." I had the privilege of visiting their summer STEM camp in Detroit this past August.

It was very cool! The kids learned to code and create a computer video game. They also have teen mentors helping the younger set. The kids even dabbled in comic book creation! Thanh Tran, their Executive Director, spoke of upcoming fall programming, which is very exciting! Our "egging" will help to provide STEM materials. This amazing organization provides equity for our next generation as they equip and propel them into the future!

WHERE ARE THE EGGS THIS MONTH?

(Book 2, Chapter 3)

November - Zambia

The second country the Eggs visited was Zambia. They flew into Lusaka and met a new friend named Paison. The Eggs stayed at Paison’s family farm throughout their trip. There they learned local customs and traditions, including basket weaving. They had memorable experiences at Victoria Falls and a safari that included a stay at a bush camp. And yes, Reggie finally saw his beloved Zebra!

INTRODUCING READING NESTS!

Reading Nests are here - a new way to support The Good Eggs Foundation! A Reading Nest consists of a bean bag chair, a set of The Good Eggs books, six puzzle sheets, and an stress-release squishy. Reading Nests can be purchased for your own children/grandchildren/nieces/ nephews, etc. OR donated to a child in need (which we will do for you).

Reading Nests provide children with an opportunity to read in a quiet place to call their own. This, in turn, helps kids build character, self-esteem, and develop positive relationships with others. As a teacher, I have witnessed first-hand the positive impact reading has on children of all ages. In our often chaotic world, the Reading Nest provides kids with a place of respite and an opportunity to cultivate their imaginations, learn about new worlds, make new discoveries, and think for themselves. We hope you will consider purchasing/donating a Reading Nest! More info here!

DONATE TO A CHILD THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

Central Detroit Christian is in line to be our December Egging! In addition to our donation of gifts to their Christmas Shop, they could use more help.

This amazing organization services three zip codes in Detroit. Help them help the parents who come to shop at this annual event. Their Christmas Shop provides children's gifts to the parents so their children can have an exciting Christmas morning! Check out this Amazon Wishlist. Please consider donating a gift or two. It will automatically ship to Central Detroit Christian. Thank you for your support!
