Breathwork & Children

Families Reaping Rewards

Through the power of one's breath, children gain a relaxed headspace which leads to a relaxed and emotionally regulated body at school and at home. Children who participate in this enrichment activity learn conscious breathing exercises. Children can benefit from decreased stress, better management of anxious feelings, slower heart rate, lower blood pressure and feelings of happiness contributing positively to mental and physical states of their overall well-being.

The International Breathwork Foundation reported that students who are immersed in daily conscious breathing strategies, learn to rely on their breath as a self-management tool to aide them in life.

Proven benefits include: Clears and focuses the mind preparing children for sustained mental effort like homework, testing and other activities that require mental stamina.

Improves self-regulation and self-containment.

Reduces need for ADHD medication.

Raises self-esteem.

Helps foster class cohesion.

Reduces bullying.

Reduces stress, worry and anxiety.

Raises reading and performance scores.

Thirsting for Knowledge in the New Year?

Breathing the Mind

The New Year has many of us creating new routines as we look to new beginnings. Some begin diets and exercise while others take classes and begin courses.

Breathwork recognizes the importance of Breathing the Mind by expanding its knowledge. Many of our thought patterns are created for us during childhood. As we grow, we keep up with these patterns and live under the impression that life happens to us. Breathwork considers the idea of Conscious Creation: You CAN create the life you wish to live by breaking old patterns and living in the present moment.

Below is a list of suggested readings I recommend to clients who want to create the reality they desire and deserve!

Conscious Creation by Dee Wallace

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

The Other F Word: Seven Days to Forgiving Anyone by Juliana Ericson

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer

Create Your Reality Now

Living in the Northern hemisphere during winter can really influence one's mood. The grey clouds hang low and days can go by before the sun kisses your face. More often than not, we find ourselves inside, not feeling as social as we do in warmer seasons. When the weather feels isolating, consider reading or posting this quote in eyesight to remind yourself, you are never alone in anything that you do!

“I am never alone wherever I am. The air itself supplies me with a century of love. When I breathe in, I am breathing in the laughter, tears, victories, passions, thoughts, memories, existence, joys, moments, and the hues of the sunlight on many tones of skin; I am breathing in the same air that was exhaled by many before me. The air that bore them life. And so how can I ever say that I am alone?”
