ANTIQUE FAIRE & FLEA MARKET |
We are just couple of weeks away from another great event - The Annual Niles Antique Faire and Flea Market - to be held on Sunday, Aug. 29th. Historically, the show has drawn tens of thousands of visitors and hundreds of merchants from all over the bay area. Preceding the event, Niles residents hold a weekend garage sale and flea market piling up their yards with forgotten items from their attics, garage, and basements. It is a fun weekend of treasure hunting through the yards. We still have booth spaces left for the Antique Faire. So if you are a vendor interested in selling your wares at the fair, please fill up the online application by clicking the button below. For NMSA Business members the booth space for non-food items is discounted with $50 off. Make sure to use the coupon code MEMBERSPECIAL21 during online checkout and provide your business name. If you are not an NMSA business member and would like to become one in order to avail of the discount, you can do so here Vendors who have applied for the booth space at the fair will receive their booth allocation and packets in mail by early next week. Thank you for your patience! We are also inviting local businesses to advertise at the Antique Faire. Sponsorship Form can be downloaded from our website (Scroll down) |

HOT AUGUST NILES CAR SHOW |
On Sunday, Aug. 8, Hot August Niles stood true to its name and set Niles on fire as some of the most beautiful cars on earth showed up in town. With a swagger in their roll and a pride reflecting in their shiny hoods, 400+ vehicles slowly rolled into Niles to make it one of the largest car shows in the history of Hot August Niles. Vehicles from all Makes and Models, all the way from 1929 Ford Model A to the latest 2020 Lotus Evora GT, descended on Niles to provide entertainment to the young and the grown-ups alike. With Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White, Silver, Green, Orange, Burgundy, Purple, and all the other colors of the rainbow, Niles Blvd. looked like a mile-long candy store and every person looked like a kid in the candy store, ogling at the ins and the outs, the front and the rear, the tops and the topless with kid-like amazement and curiosity. Businesses were packed with masked customers as the visitors explored the stores and eateries. It was a Disneyland of sorts for the pro and amateur photographers as they tried to capture the colors and views at every nook and corner. Firemen from Fremont Fire sold hot dogs for a fundraiser, Fremont Police were present for security, Warm weather, beautiful views, friendly neighbors and volunteers, and excited kids made for a great day to be in Niles. All in a all it was a spectacular show put together by a handful of dedicated volunteers from NMSA. A special shout out to Gary Mills who has been organizing this event for last two decades! Congratulations to the following winners! A MESSAGE FROM STOPWASTE.ORG
As food businesses in Alameda County are reopening and rebuilding their operations, they no longer need to rely on disposable cups, plates, utensils and other food service items to keep customers and staff safe. Consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local health authorities are explicitly allowing reusable foodware when properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized. In addition to reducing costs, reusable foodware also cuts waste, prevents litter, and improves diner experience. For detailed guidance on reusable foodware, as well as related resources including funding assistance and technical support, download StopWaste’s Reusable Foodware Guide developed in consultation with the Alameda County Department of Environmental Health.. |

We rely on community donations to put up all the great shows and organize our efforts around the Niles community. The Saturday Farmers' Market, the Car Show, the Antique Faire, the Niles Cleanup Day, the Spring Festival are few of the many events that we have organized for decades and will continue to do so. We couldn't have done this all without your financial help. (Check out all NMSA-sponsored events here). If you feel you have enjoyed the events, the energy and the vibe, and the reputation that it has brought to our community, we would appreciate you digging into your pockets and thinking of us.
