Congratulations to our active members who applied this spring. This spring's mini-grant requests came from a variety of districts as well as teachers and paras working to help students within their schools. One application that was poignant was a team effort to get incoming 9th graders to feel connected to their school especially with the pandemic. This was a critical piece to connect them for success and to feel part of their family. The mini-grant helped make that happen in a very short time with a lot of creativity. Also because of the pandemic, there was a real need for books at home especially to be able to read to younger brothers and sisters, online, and pride of ownership. Many books were of the social emotional themes, which tied into their coping skills. Active Members: Watch for next fall's Mini Grant Applications! |
