Cycles ... endings and new beginnings
In my studies as a Healer I have been taught that ‘any abrupt ending can have devastating effects on the person’ - they frequently experience a sense of loss, a feeling of uncertainty and disorientation, where all that once was taken for granted is now no longer... and for many, this leads to depression and a sense of helplessness, where they feel not only disempowered, unable to control their lives, but also a rejection of any support offered [they see this as a label that they have ‘failed’, and are just ‘not good enough’].
They fear this Unknown Future, and can only see it as Dark...
But this is not what everybody experiences.
There are those who just can’t wait for the old to be ‘done and gone’ - they are excited for The New, they bubble over with dreams and aspirations for ‘a glorious New Beginning’.
Thrilled by these unlimited opportunities they make plans to change their Life - exercise, eat better, take up a new course of study [or at least a new hobby]... often they make plans to travel, and embrace it all as a wonderful new beginning, an adventure - and a joyous one at that !
Now, you the reader, may think that this is by far the most preferable approach, and maybe you’re even inspired to do some of it yourself... but here’s a reality check -
It is a well known fact that most diets / exercise programs / new studies or activities do not last longer than a few weeks... and then ‘Life’ kicks back in, and we find ourselves back at square one [and often disappointed and critical of our inability to follow through !]
...But, you’d say, it really isn’t your fault that ________________ [fill in your excuse: the dog ate my credit card / my favorite restaurant closed / my garden gnome was stolen / my boss went on vacation and I now really had to work ... and for those of you with exceptional vision ‘My Guides told me not to...’]
No matter how valid the reasons, you now face a repeat of the old patterns, and may even begin to wonder IF you are actually able to live Life differently... if it is even worth trying ...
So, what’s it going to take ... ?
