Hello Friends
Thank you for signing up for my newsletter. I hope everyone is doing well in spite of social distancing restrictions we must deal with. I admit that starting a website and offering a newsletter seems a little daunting. In spite of those concerns, I am excited to share my artistic journey with you each month.
My newsletter goal is to share any shows or galleries displaying my paintings, and tell of new pieces I have completed. The newsletter will allow me to give any back stories about the inspiration for the paintings.
The above painting is the Portland Gas Company building once located along Highway 30 in North Portland. The structure was built in 1915 and demolished in 2015 but was unused since 1958. I did this painting when I knew that the building was scheduled to be torn down. Since it is such an eerie-looking ruin, I painted it with a Halloween motif. The St. Johns bridge in the background was not as close as portrayed, so thank goodness for artistic license, don't you agree?
If you like old buildings, as I do, you might enjoy photos taken inside. Many sites on the web tell of this building. Here are a couple you may wish to check out.

Thank you for taking the time to read about this piece, and my artwork.
I currently have art displayed in the gallery at the Columbia County, Or Courthouse. If you come to St Helens for the Halloweentown festivities, check out the gallery. I also have 2 paintings in the North Lake Physical Therapy clinic near Courthouse Square in St. Helens.
Be Well,
Linda
