Last-minute Father's Day gifts, what it was like growing up with a South African dad, and meet me Sunday!

Howzit? It's a South African greeting for "how are you?" Today I'm combining my newsletters in honor of Father's Day, which is on Sunday. I started a new feature called "Jew of the Week," and this week it's my dad. And, fun fact, he is South African, so I have a new cartoon about what it was like growing up with that culture as part of my life.

I'm still selling some Father's Day products online and in person on Sunday at Grand Bazaar on the Upper West Side. I went last week with my sister and we had so much fun. This week, my dad's joining me! Also, thanks to SO many of you for sending headshot opinions last week. I will share more on why I needed that later this month. :)

Jew of the Week is my dad!

My dad is one of a kind! He grew up in South Africa and moved to New York at 18 to go to Columbia. He's lived in London, LA, a kibbutz in Israel, and off the coast of Scotland on an oil rig. Every day I learn something new about his past. He has pursued many creative projects like creating a board game, writing multiple books about quitting smoking, a South African rapper, and how to get startup funding. He's created his own events business that he still runs to this day. He has always encouraged me to be a leader and create my own thing, and supports me whether that means helping me prep food to sell at International Day in high school, running a market for me to sell Haggadahs when I couldn't, or promoting my work. I could go on and on. Mazel Tov to my mensch of a dad!
