A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who helped in Sunday School and Nursery this year. Their time and talents make an immense impact on our congregation’s youngest members. They help grow the children's faith each and every week, and help them to know our Lord and all His glorious ways. The future of our church is in good hands thanks to these wonderful folks who donate their time to the children’s ministry. They are such a blessing to our church community! |

PRIDE WEEKEND IN NEW CASTLE Mark your Calendars for some exciting events to celebrate Pride Month in New Castle! On Saturday, June 29, a Drag Queen Brunch will be offered at Cabernet Candles at 410 Delaware Street. At 3 p.m., New Castle Presbyterian will host a creative event of spoken-word, visual art and music featuring artist Phoenix from Riverfront Ministries and pianist-extraordinarie Michael Hunter. This will be followed by a reception in the CE Building. We are asking the congregation to donate either finger foods or set-up/clean-up time for the 4 PM reception. We'd like to keep it simple; similar to things that are served for coffee hour. Please sign up if you can help; there will be a sign-up sheet in the CE building. Please see either Diana Reilly or Phee Price with questions. Thank you! If you'd like to be a part of planning these events, contact Phee Price at pheeprice@gmail.com |

FRIENDSHIP HOUSE - SCHOOL UNIFORM DRIVE The New Castle Presbyterian Church Mission & Outreach Committee works closely with Friendship House and the Clothing Bank each year. Thanks to our generous congregation, hundreds of clothing donations are made each year to the Clothing Bank through our Fall Clothing Drive and Undie Sunday underwear drive in February. This May-June, we would like to give our congregation the opportunity to donate once again to one of the greatest needs: School uniforms. There are few resources for school uniform items like polo shirts and khaki/navy pants when families can’t afford to buy them, but many schools in Delaware require them. Without the required school dress code, the consequences for students can be significant. Any help that we can offer to ease this one burden for these students and families will make a huge difference and provide students with the confidence needed to excel in academics. In 2023, the Clothing Bank was able to provide over 10,000 uniform items to 18 public schools in Delaware. Their plan is to expand their reach incrementally until they are eventually serving the entire state. This is where our congregation can help. And it's so easy, you don't even have to leave your computer. We are asking NCPC members to make online donations during the months of May and June to help this worthwhile cause. Donations can be made online through the Friendship Clothing Bank website Go to the right side of the page and select from three different donation registries (Target, Amazon, and French Toast). Clothing items will then be delivered directly to the Clothing Bank. Thank you for assisting with this great cause. If you have any questions, please contact Scott Selheimer at selheime@udel.edu or 302-368-8639. |

MEALS ON WHEELS One week each month, NCPC volunteers deliver meals to our homebound neighbors. The route takes about 60-75 minutes and covers just the New Castle area. We are looking for a few additional volunteers to deliver meals one day a month or on a substitute basis. Please give this volunteer opportunity your prayerful consideration; together, we get to do Christ's work of feeding and visiting our homebound neighbors. If you want more information, please contact me at 302-328-7346 or email me at suzieflook@hotmail.com. Thank you! - Susan Flook, Meals on Wheels Coordinator. | | |

GIFTS OF LOVE In Romans 12:13, Paul urges us to "Share with God's people who are in need”. So far in 2024, we have contributed $2,400.00 to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Peter’s church in support of our mutual efforts to assist our New Castle neighbors in need. This donation will go a long way to help relieve the staggering need that is expressed almost daily. We get calls from people having to choose whether to pay the rent or medical bills or car repairs or utility bills. If you can pay yours without having to choose, you are very blessed. Your contributions will absolutely bless others. We also donate food items for the St Peter’s food pantry. The pantry is experiencing an abundance of tuna, peanut butter and dry cereals but not so much mayonnaise, jelly, and powdered milk. So, while all items are appreciated, mayonnaise, jelly and powdered milk are really needed at this time. Thank you NCPC for being such good neighbors. To God be the glory! |

For meal inspiration and dates, the sign up sheet is in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Scott Selheimer with any questions. |

NCPC volunteers (often Cynthia, Steve, and Miranda!) cook a nutritious meal on the 7th of every month. Brownies help to make it a joyful feast. Bake a box or two, store the brownies in a sealed container (wrap in foil, seal in a ziploc bag), and drop them off to our kitchen. If baking in advance, place them in a freezer. Current call for brownies is June 6; boxes are available in the CE Building! |
