Sesion Panel: WiNspire: meet-up |
|
|
On 25 August we kicked off our new series of WiNspire talks, which we will be running over the next few months. The aim of these talks is to bring together students from different scientific careers with experts in the field of nuclear engineering, so that they can tell the students from their experience how their path in this field has been. On this occasion, we held the first event in Chile, which was chaired by our member Stephanie Neira. The talk featured three speakers from the Chilean Nuclear Energy Commission, who spent a day reflecting on the challenges one faces when entering such an institution. They also discussed gender equality in the nuclear sector with students from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, who warmly welcomed us. We thank María José Yañez A., Adriana Nario M. and Macarena Meneses M. for their willingness to participate in the event and the enthusiasm they conveyed to the students. We also thank WiN Chile and the university for their collaboration in the realisation of the activity. |
