It's been one fire after another these past couple of weeks, but I won't let the turkeys get me down. The steep learning curve is ratcheting up for this newbie but that's why I get paid the big bucks. Oh, wait. Never mind that, dear reader. Now it's time to get ready for TMID's GOODREADS GIVEAWAY debut. I'm giving away ebook copies of TEX MILLER IS DEAD to TWENTY lucky GoodReads members. Want a chance to win? Details below. xoxo, Kelly |

If you haven't heard of GoodReads, it's an online place for readers (and definitely not for writers) to kibbitz about books. What's new, what's old but making a comeback, classics in every genre and subgenre. Want to read one-star reviews for Jane Austen, Ernest Hemingway, or Faulkner? GoodReads.com is the place! I'd love it if you would make a FREE account and 'put TEX on your shelf.' Doing that will get you an email notification when the GIVEAWAY begins (April 2- May 2) so you can enter to win. Twenty lucky readers will receive an ebook copy of TEX MILLER IS DEAD early enough to give it a read and then review it (I beg of you, AGAIN). Chances are, you'll hear from me again about this promotion. xoxo, Kelly P.S. And as always—keep telling all your friends, family, enemies, lovers, coworkers, randos on the street— their new favorite summer read is 39 days from market...or maybe sooner. **Buy links for multiple retailers or Barnes and Noble if The 'Zon isn't your jam or Amazon if it is.** |

I'm a sucker for all things spacey. While I watch both, I'm more Star Trek than Star Wars. I thought The Martian was a fantastic read and will watch pretty much any flick about space travel, be it fiction or based on real events. But I'm also a lover of sky-sightings—sunsets, eclipses, meteor showers, and more, and April's got them all. The Pink Moon is this April 5th. Even more intriguing will be Saturn coming within 3 degrees of the moon on April 15th. A southern hemisphere solar eclipse occurs on the 20th, and the Lyrid Meteor Shower peaks on the 23rd. Lastly, Mars "kisses" the waning crescent just after sunset on April 25th. Learn more about all of these events here. And you just might find a reference or two to a sliver of a waning crescent in TEX MILLER IS DEAD. |

March 30, 1909, the Queensboro Bridge (aka the 59th Street Bridge and Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge) opened, linking Manhattan and Queens in New York City. In more KellyVerse (trademark pending) trivia, both book #2, A VERY CROWDED HOUSE and book #3, A GIRL, STUCK, take place in and around New York City—specifically in The Hamptons and Queens, respectively. |
