Treestories continued...

... this photo was taken during the cold snap we had in Sydney last week, I had moved to the other side of the building at Eramboo looking for some winter sunshine, but found the treeview instead. I’m lost in the world of trees for now, again, maybe for always! These works are for a forthcoming show at Suki & Hugh Gallery in Bungendore, this August.

I love working with this gallery, and I love the road trips that come with that relationship! The show is in conjunction with ceramicist Larissa Warren - our synergetic works explore the layers and scars in the landscape, and the cyclical exchange of energy between earth and forests through growth, decay and renewal.

There are a couple of opportunities to connect in person over the next month or so...

I’ll be speaking at an evening hosted by Creative Women’s Circle at Manly Art Gallery and Museum on Thursday 4th July at 7pm, alongside two very inspiring creative women -

Sophie Vander and Julie Paterson. I’m sure I’ve been invited to provide comic relief! Tickets available here.

Have you heard of the APY Gallery in Sydney? There are two beautiful exhibitions currently on from Tjala Arts. It’s worth a visit if you’re interested in Indigenous Art and learning about the APY Art Centre Collective of Central Australia. I’ll be hosting a visit to the gallery this Friday morning for anyone who would like to join me. If you're thinking about coming on an 'Accompanied Adventure' - this is the ideal opportunity to meet and get a feel for what the trip is all about.

Please email me if you would like to attend, everyone is welcome.

If you share my intrigue for the beauty of treeforms and would like to paint some of your own, I’ll be hosting a ‘Treelove’ painting class at North Sydney Community Centre for four Thursday evenings in August. The course is suitable for beginners, and anyone keen to create their own tree families in watercolour and ink.

"Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky" Khalil Gibran.

Here’s a fun photo taken by my friend Jane Gerrish who was lucky enough to be immersed in the beauty of Bundanon, the beautiful homestead, education centre and artist retreat gifted to the nation by Arthur and Yvonne Boyd near Nowra (highly recommended place to visit).

Just to let you know that scarves in wool and silk are back in stock here.

As always, thank you for your continued interest and support, I welcome your enquiries and contact.
