The Popup Poetry Spot Shines Bright at November's Promise Tea Party |
We’re thrilled to share that The Popup Poetry Spot had the honor of performing at November’s Promise tea party! It was an incredible opportunity for us to use our art to support a wonderful cause: collecting gently used clothes for families in need. Our performance was filled with heartfelt verses and meaningful messages, resonating with everyone in attendance. |

It was truly inspiring to see the community come together for such a worthy purpose. As part of the event, we hosted a raffle, and we’re excited to announce that Marcella Corbin (pictured above) was the lucky winner of the raffle! We’re grateful to November’s Promise for inviting us to be a part of this meaningful initiative. Together, we made a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Congratulations Marcella! |

Out2Learn Howdy Partner By: Tameka White |
The Popup Poetry Spot recently participated in the Out2Learn "Howdy Partner" fair, joining over 150 organizations in search of new programs and opportunities. It was a fantastic event that brought together a diverse array of community-focused initiatives, and we were honored to be a part of it. At the fair, we had the opportunity to share details about one of our latest programs, TPPS Teen. This initiative is all about empowering teenagers to explore the world of poetry, teaching them how to write and perform their own pieces. Through TPPS Teen, we aim to provide a creative outlet for young minds to express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others in a meaningful way. |

Texas Southern University Comm Week |

We took part in the Comm Week career fair! It was an amazing opportunity for us to connect with students who share our passion for poetry and the arts. At the fair, we had the chance to showcase the various opportunities available at The Popup Poetry Spot, including internships, poet positions, and future partnerships. We were thrilled to see so much interest from the students in attendance. In fact, we were able to sign up 45 students who expressed interest in getting involved with The Popup Poetry Spot in various capacities. We want to extend a big thank you to the organizers of Comm Week Prof. Clyde Duncan, for hosting such a fantastic event and providing us with the platform to connect with these talented individuals. |
