PASTORAL PAGE CREATION CARE- HOW WE CAN PARTICIPATE by Dn Leong Pei De, Victor As I sat listening to our speaker Mr Lawrence Ko share about Creation Care, I was grateful for champions like him who have devoted their lives to studying, educating and advocating for this cause. More than a cause, this is a call for us to be priests of God’s creation and I was happy to receive an education about it. The temptation though, was to nod, agree, and continue keeping this Creation Care business at arm’s length because there are more competent, learned and passionate people out there who are spearheading this charge. GOD AT WORK by Dr Tan Bee Bee On 7 October 2023, The Bible Church sent a team of 9 members consisting of 4 dentists to West Nepal to conduct dental camps in 4 villages. The mission trip sought to build bridges between church planters and the communities, especially in villages where the ground is hard. The preparation for this trip was met with some challenges. One village which we had intended to visit obtained approval from local authorities but was declined by the mayor. BAPTISM AND TRANSFER OF MEMBERSHIP We will be conducting two baptismal services next Sunday. The baptisms will be conducted at the end of the Chinese Service and English Service 2, when the congregation will adjourn downstairs to the Faith Fellowship Hall. Details are as follows: Chinese Service (8.45am-10.00am): Hang Thiew Phong, Lew Siew Yoong, Lin Xiangting, Ng Siang Hian, Ong Teck Seng, Pang Huey Huey, Tan Siew Keong, Yi Chengxin Baptists: Elder Samuel Chan and Asst Ps Lai Keet Keong English 2nd Service (10.15am-11.30am): Mark Ong, Benel Tai, Joel Yip Baptists: Ps Lee Kok Wah and Asst Ps Patrick Chan Yin You are encouraged to be present at the Faith Fellowship Hall to witness the baptisms which are part of the worship services. Upon their baptism, the candidates will become members of The Bible Church Singapore. Over the 4 & 5 November weekend services, we will also present to the congregation the following membership transfer candidates: Ng Chin Mei, Yew Kar Wei (attending the English Services) and Yau Hing Onn, Tan Bee Choo (Karen) (attending the Chinese Service). COLOURS OF CHRISTMAS A Christmas Party organised by the Good Neighbours Every month, volunteers from The Bible Church have been reaching out to show the love of Jesus to our Good Neighbours beneficiaries. These beneficiaries include at-risk teenage girls from Gladiolus Place, migrant brothers at Kranji Recreation Centre, and low-income families residing in West Coast & Clementi. This Christmas, we hope to invite these beneficiaries for a time of food, fun and celebration, where we will also share the true meaning of Christmas with them. Details: Date: 10 December 2023 (Sunday) Time: 5.00-8.00pm Venue: The Bible Church Singapore, 152 West Coast Road, Singapore 127370 Highlights include: Buffet dinner, live ice cream and prata stations, photobooth, blessing draw, pre-loved gift corner, live band & door gifts. HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED? Packing and wrapping of door gifts and blessing draw prizes (note: this will take place on 8 December (Friday), 2.00pm) Logistics assistant (for registration, pre-loved gift corner, photo booth, etc.) Befriender & table host* Donate new items for the blessing draw or secondhand items in good condition for the pre-loved gift corner. Recommended items for donation: small household items, small electrical appliances, electronic devices, bags, stationery, shirts for men, food items (halal).

JOIN THE PA & WAH TEAM! PA VOLUNTEERS The PA team is made up of 3 roles: Audio, Visuals and Video. Description of Roles: 1. Audio - balances the sound levels in the sanctuary such that any spoken word or music on stage may be delivered audibly and clearly with minimal distractions. 2. Visuals - clicks through the slides in a timely fashion, allowing congregational participation during the worship service. 3. Video - operates the video camera in the sanctuary and livestreams the service to those who might not be able to take part in the worship service physically. FAQ 1. How often do I need to serve? Audio & Visuals - Once every 5 weeks. for all 3 services Video - Once every 5 weeks, for only the Saturday Evening Service 2. I do not have any background in PA, can I still serve? Yes! We will train and equip you with the skills needed to operate the various types of equipment. We hope to recruit at least 2 Audio, 2 Visuals & 2 Video volunteers. Ushers 1. Greet worshippers. 2. Usher worshippers to their seats, distribute communion elements, help identify and newcomers. Befrienders 1. Befriend new visitors to The Bible Church, Singapore by identifying and connecting with them after the service and during the week. FAQ 1. How often do I need to serve? Once a month at only one service (you may choose any service you wish to be assigned). 2. I do not have any experience in ushering or befriending. No prior experience required as long as you are willing to be cheerful and welcoming to all our worshippers. Training will be provided to equip you. GO TO SCHOOL (GTS) PROGRAM IN CEBU AND BATAM A big thank you to our members who have sponsored our Go To School (GTS) program in Cebu and Batam since the start of this program in 2019 and 2021 respectively. The program has been well received by the local community. Currently there are 42 students in Cebu and 27 students in Batam supported under this program. Some of the children we sponsored have done well academically and some are pursuing studies in local universities. Through this program we are able to reach some of the parents. The parents and the local pastors requested us to consider supporting more needy students from the local community. This is a program that is integrated with the local church’s outreach work. It aims to develop every child in 4 areas namely Christ (spiritual life), Community (relational capacity), Character and Competency. We need more members from our church to adopt GTS students as we plan to support 50 students next year in Cebu. Once you adopt a particular student, you will be sponsoring a part of their educational expenses and receive periodical updates from the respective GTS coordinators. You can also visit them when you are able to go for a mission trip. This sponsorship is renewable every two years. CHENNAI-EQUIPASIA (EA) GRADUATION & MISSION TRIP Dates: 1 to 5 November 2023 The master trainers from Chennai who graduated from the EA training program in Singapore in March 2023 have in turn been teaching 40 Christian leaders in the outskirts of Chennai. An EA graduation will be held on 2 November 2023. A team consisting of five brothers, Benjamin Hon, Sashiraj, Lee Tianli, Johnny Yeo and Asst Ps Gift Daniel will be going to South India to attend the EA graduation. They will then remain for a few more days to visit the churches and outreach work of our EA partners. Please pray for: 1. Stamina and motivation for both the teachers and students to complete the training program with enthusiasm and joy as there are still some more EA sessions for students to complete. 2. The students to be more effective in their respective ministries by applying what they have learnt from the EA materials. 3. The master trainers to be united as they plan their next training program and to be able to recruit students to participate in the program. 4. Safe trip for the team going from our church. Pray for safety during the local road travel as the team will be visiting some remote places outside Chennai. 5. The churches and outreach work we will be visiting outside Chennai. Pray that our team will be a source of encouragement to the local pastors and evangelists. |

TBC ASIAN MISSION FELLOWSHIP (ONLINE) Scripture exhorts us to encourage one another as the day is drawing near. This is what we aim to do through our Zoom fellowship with our mission partners (who can speak English) serving in Bhutan, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines and other countries. Started in May 2021, this time of worship, devotion, sharing and prayer has been well received. In 2023, our devotions is based on the book of Jonah. Due to security concerns, please note that this will be a closed meeting. Please join us if you have a burden to encourage those who are going through persecution and difficult times. If you are going through a season of challenges and need emotional support, the Lay Counselling Ministry in the Bible Church would love to pray and journey with you through your struggles and difficulties. Trained counsellors are available to help with pastoral care and short-term counselling for children, youth and adults, including TBC members, regular attendees and those seeking Christian counsel.
