Welcome to this week's update on Colombo's meal deals, food delivery and events. So, another week of lockdown and there are rumours that it might be extended further. We hope that we have helped you to find some new ideas for meal deliveries and that you have enjoyed what you have tried. We have also been looking for online events of interest and have suggested a wide variety of online learning, exploration, entertainment and other events. We keep looking for more local events - livestreams from local musicians, comedians or others but we have not found many. If you know of any, please do tell us and we will help them to reach a larger audience. Also do let us know what online events you enjoy and what you would like to see more off - comedy, cookery, travel or something different. We enjoy any and all feedback and want to give you ideas that you would most enjoy. Keep Safe and Stay Well . If you like this, please sign up below and forward it to your friends to subscribe. |

Breakfast and Lunch We found another breakfast that looks good. The Peppermint Café have several breakfast options including an omelette, sausages and spinach but their menu has quite a few more choices from oats to croissants and waffles. The recently opened Ceylon Curry Club have launched their delivery menu. Naturally it is centred on curry and rice but as well as the classic chicken curry you will find vegetable, pork, egg, calamari and more, all priced from Rs475 to Rs595. The menu is suited to lunch but is also available for dinner. If lunch for you is more pizza than curry, then you might try one from S39 Pizzeria. They are offering two large pizzas for Rs2500 or two extra large for Rs3200. Apparently they bake their pizzas in a cinnamon wood fired oven which sounds fantastic. if you have tried one, let us know what they are like! Or... Bento Boxes? The classic Japanese Bento Box lunch is now available from Kami Maki, Monday to Thursday, from 11a to 3pm.

The Regent are offering several feast menus for four or six people. There is a choice of an Indian, Middle Eastern or Western feast, priced from Rs2800 for 4 up to Rs6000 for 6. Like fast good? Check. Like Chocolate? Check. Well after a nice dinner, for desert how about.... a chocolate burger? Mr Burger have created a burger that consists of a chocolate brownie patty, with chocolate sauce, a tangy mango relish and chocolate sprinkles. Again, we would love to hear what it is like!

Happy Hours & Ladies' Night With lockdown this week there are sadly no options for happy hour, ladies' night or even gentlemen's night. We hope that we will be able to enjoy these again, when it is safe to do so.

Live Music and DJs With places closed, there are of course no live music options this week, at least not in person. There are a couple of live stream concerts coming up this weekend which might be of interest. ABBA fans? Yes, we know that there are a lot of us! On Thursday at 10.15pm, something is happening. Some places describe it as a livestream concert, others as "historic announcement". We'll find out soon enough and, whatever it is, you can watch it here. From Sweden to Iceland and Bjork will be livestreaming a concert, with choir and organ, on Sunday at 3.30pm. We would love to include some online gigs or even chats from any of the many great bands in Colombo. If you are planning one, please let us know. If you would like some help in putting one together, again let us know and we would love to help.
