MAY NEWSLETTER

Check out what's going on in our community!

Greetings CCCHS!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Rose Cologne Volunteer Dinner - it was a great evening honoring so many individuals who are doing wonderful work in our community. Another big thank you to the committee who worked to make it such a great event! Congratulations to our award winners - Sandy Schuckers (Ann Graybill Cook Award) and Juniper Village at Brookeline (Bobbi Bronstein Award). Visit our website, www.theccchs.org, to see pictures from the evening as well as the recording from C-NET.

As a reminder - if you would like to present at a membership meeting, please contact Katie Kensinger (Katie.Kensinger@Junipercommunities.com) or Dee Hall (mhall@centresafe.org). The opportunity to present at meetings 1 time per year is a membership benefit and we encourage you to sign up and share information about your organization!

The Robert T. Ott Seed Grant committee is working on developing materials for this year's grant. The Board and Committee are reviewing all of the feedback you provided in the membership surveys and incorporating into the process. Forms and information for the Seed grant will be coming out in July via email and the newsletter. Forms will also be available on the website.

Our next membership meeting will be on June 5, 2019 at 12pm at Calvary. This will be our annual picnic. Lunch will be provided by Calvary. We hope you can join us for a relaxing lunch!

AGENCY MESSAGES

Center for Alternatives in Community Justice Need Volunteers!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Volunteer one evening and 4 phone calls each month...

The Centre County Youth Aid Panel is a group of trained community volunteers who oversee  the completion of an alternative plan of action, a “contract” for juveniles who are first time offenders and have admitted to non-violent crimes in Centre County.
The Panels, one in State College and one in Bellefonte, convene once each month to meet with enrolled and new participants in the plan.

In addition to the monthly meeting of approximately three hours (usually 6-9pm), each panel member mentors a juvenile for the length of their contract and communicates once a week by phone to oversee progress.

  • Restorative justice.

  • Empowering individuals.

  • Community service.

New Referral Process to Link Job Seekers with Community Partners at

PA CareerLink®

Dear Community Partner:

PA CareerLink® Centre County is taking part in a new referral program to expedite workflow and better meet the needs of Pennsylvanians. The goal of the program is to increase both efficiency and outreach by helping individuals find and connect with all the local resources available to them.

Examples of resources our jobseekers may require include: housing/shelter, food, mental health services, drug counseling, legal assistance, child care, transportation, and more.

The referral program will make connecting with other programs easier through the use of automated emails and notification features. Further, it allows for easy back and forth communication between the Workforce staff member and the referral program contact. An example of the referral email Community Partners will receive from PA CareerLink® is attached in the link below.

All community partners and relevant human service agencies can be included in our new automated referral system.

To have your contact information included, please complete the attached form, then scan and email it to jafitzgerald@tiu11.org.

If your agency houses more than one program to which referrals can be made, please complete a form for each program and the appropriate contact information for that program.

Questions? Please call us! 814-548-7587 x238.

Respectfully,

PA CareerLink® Centre County
