Updates, Ground Beef, Freezer Status and Pork Subscriptions

Farm Happenings

With winter settling in and snow on the ground things are slowly settling down from the fall rush. The animals are all in their winter pens and housing and we are wrapping up our last few outdoor projects. If any of you would ever like to take a winter tour of our farm please get a hold of us. We always enjoy showing you around!

Freezer Status

We still have a fair amount of both beef and pork in our freezers. Once this stock runs out we will not be restocking for the time being.

Beef steaks are 25% off while supplies last!

(Prices on our site are before this discount)

Beef Cuts

Bulk Ground Beef

Does your family use a lot of ground beef but not much for other cuts? We have a ground beef cow that we are splitting into a whole, halves and quarters for those who would like to stock their freezers with lots of ground beef. We will be charging $6.75/lb of ground meat for those who can take it all at once and $8/lb. for those who would like to take advantage of our freezer space and get it in smaller increments throughout the year. We expect each quarter to yield 60-100lb. of ground beef. This cow will be heading to the butcher in the next couple weeks so we need to know asap if you would like to jump on this offer. $100/quarter deposit to reserve your meat.

Pork Subscription Boxes

We still have a couple pigs available for subscription boxes starting around the end of December. These can also be purchased as whole pigs. If you are interested don't wait too long because our next batch will not be ready until June.

We are excited to be partnering with Harmony's Way Family Farm for getting our pigs processed this time around. They offer nitrate, gluten, msg and filler free sausages and bacon/ham curing. Just real smoke, spices and salts!

Smoked Out!

Last week when it was getting colder Ruth's cousin wanted to use our shop to work on his truck. When we lit the wood stove to warm up the shop, smoke kept pouring out of the stove door and smoking us out of the shop. We finally started taking apart the chimney and found that some small rodent had packed it full of wheat over the summer months. That's a lot of tiny mouth fulls of wheat to pack!
