Global Handwashing Day!!

For the past 1.5 years we have been shouting "Wash your hands to stop the spread of COVID!" Today, wash your hands because we should always be washing our hands!

Happy Friday Friends!!!

Happy Newsletter Friday! Welcome to those of you who are reading this for the first time and welcome back to those returning! Let's kick it off with the anticipated poll results!

THE POLL RESULTS:

To celebrate one year of the newsletter we had not one but TWO polls!! WOWWEE! Let's dive right in and check out that first poll. What is the best part of the newsletter? It is hard to pick, I know... BUT let's see what y'all said.

Well, would you look at that! The favorite part of the newsletter is the POLL RESULTS! The anticipation really keeps us going. But wait, there's more! We had a second poll to see how we all were feeling. Let's give a quick look to see what the vibe was two weeks ago.

This scale really provided some insight to how we all were feeling. There was a wide and equal range of answers! People felt like "About to get home then stepped in a puddle of water and wet socks! (good thing almost home!)" to "I have a bowl of lucky charms and they are a little stale" to "It is discount halloween candy season! (oh that is a pretty good day!)" Today, I'm hoping everyone feels like they can taste the rainbow!

IN THE HEADLINES:

Are you tired of all the constant headlines popping up on your phones? Does the news sometimes ruin the day? Here is a place where you can find uplifting, fun, and good news from people in our own community. Keep looking to your own life headlines for a smile!

Featured Headlines:

  • "I finished my job at STOMP!"
    • Alex - NY

  • "I got a promotion!"
    • Helen - NY

  • We all woke up and started the day, no matter how slow!
    • Everyone!

My time at Stomp has come to an end and what a wild ride that was! Also, CONGRATS HELEN! That is so exciting and we are all so proud!  Even when the mornings can be hard, you did it! That is accomplishment enough sometimes.

Our news might be small but, it was good news! Want to be featured "In the Headlines"? Share your breaking news here to have the chance to be in the next newsletter!

OTHER NEWS:

Like mentioned earlier, I finished my time at STOMP. My time at STOMP taught me a lot and helped me figure out what I want my time to look like. Since the pandemic hit, priorities have been changing rapidly. What people wanted in early 2020 might look drastically different today. I know for me, I want to have more free time to do social activities all the while finding ways to grow. Working long days, nights, and weekends don't seem appealing to me right now. That being said, this can change further down the road but, today this is where I am at. Constant check-ins with myself have been really useful and I am excited to see what happens next.

Y'all... Mercury has been in retrograde for some time now. I don't know if you have felt the funk of this retrograde but, let me tell you this, I have felt it for sure. There is good news though! Mercury is almost out of retrograde! Monday, October 18th, is when Mercury in retrograde ends. Hopefully, with that, we might feel a little more grounded, at least for a week.

Thank you for reading this and if this brought a smile to your day, feel free to forward it on and spread the cheer! Don't forget the impact a little kindness can have. It can create lots of change!

'Til next time,

...alex is out

Alex's Book Corner

I am currently reading:

  • Stumbling Upon Happiness by Daniel Gilbert

What I have read these past few weeks:

  • The Pink Line: Journeys Across the World's Queer Frontiers by Mark Gevisser
    • This book was very good! It was a little dense and dry at times but interesting to see the impact of a push for equal rights for members of the LGBTQ+ community had across the world. Some were uplifting and others were a little sad. Still an insightful and good read! (4 stars)

The Newsletter Poll!

Two polls in one week! How fun was that?! This week we are back to our normal programming and with a poll from Sam (NJ). The poll is... Who is your fav Disney Villain?!

One more thing: Want to see your poll question in the newsletter? Submit your ideas here!
