TRREB reported 9,046 sales through TRREB's MLS system in September 2021, down about 18% compared to September 2020.  The lack of housing supply and choice has reached a critical juncture.  The effect of tight GTA housing market conditions was driving the average selling price up both from month-to-month and year-over-year.

• Food even gets more expensive - Grocery Bills.  It then results in the labour and material costs rising added on the new pre-construction projects.
• Time Value of Money (TVM) - the inflation impacts on the value of a dollar over the time.  Real estate investment is a safe option for many investors to protect their money worth.  The investors can earn the return through property rental and resale the properties and the property appreciation can be against the rising inflation rates.

The Sales-to-New Listings Ratio 67% in September, lower than 14% compared to August 2021 due to the new listings slightly more after summer holiday.  However, there is still a low-record inventory of available properties on the market and a lack of choices for the potential home buyers. The price curve showed relatively flat at high level after the soaring price growth in the 1st quarter 2021.
