MYTHS & LEGENDS

Virtual School Event

(from the desk of Alli Brydon, the author)

Dear ABC blog subscribers,

Hello, and happy Autumn! We are in the full swing of the loveliest season of the year (in my opinion); the air is getting cool and crisp and the leaves are a shock of color. I wanted to write to you wearing my "other" hat...not my woolen one, but my "author hat."

While you might know me best as a children’s book editor, I am also a children’s book author. Last year Lonely Planet Kids published my MYTHS & LEGENDS OF THE WORLD, a fully-illustrated collection of 21 myth and legend retellings from all over the world: the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, & the Arctic.

And for the first time ever, I am offering a virtual school workshop for students in grades 3 – 6! This 45-minute video chat-based event contains two myth readings, one short creative art project, and a Q&A session. Both book and event are suitable for students aged 8 – 12, and link academically to mythology and literature curriculum.

I’d love to tune in to a (virtual) classroom near you!

Click below to get in touch with me and find out more information about my school event. Please tell your local school’s teachers and librarians! I am available most school days/hours (UK and East-Coast US), and I can reach multiple classrooms and/or students at once, which is great value for any school.
