THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR PEOPLE IN TWELVE-STEP RECOVERY PROGRAMS We have discovered that even when we live with great resolve, determination, and effort, we cannot heal ourselves. As we consent to God’s presence and action within us through the Centering Prayer practice, we open ourselves to the exact healing we most need. BENEFITS OF CENTERING PRAYER —We develop a nonjudgmental attitude of ourselves & others. —We become more comfortable in our own skin. —We grow in our capacity to listen and serve others. —We nurture our ability to live in the present moment. Centering Prayer addresses the healing the parts of the HUMAN CONDITION that are obstacles to divine love and freedom. ABOUT 12 STEP OUTREACH In 2001, the 12 Step Outreach program of Contemplative Outreach was established to offer Centering Prayer to people in all 12 Step fellowships as an 11th Step prayer/meditation practice. |

"First Things First" First Flight Recovering Spirituality in Recovery by Kenny Kohberger |

A Story of the Initial Presentation of a Unique Recovery Program... My anticipation heightened as I greeted the men entering the Chapel. I was anxious to see their reaction to the story that takes place in 1935. The story is central to my project’s curriculum which they volunteered to help pilot. The little-known story is about the lives of two men that happened to meet in Akron Ohio in 1935. They were drawn together by the one thing they had in common, a desperate desire to stop drinking and using drugs... |

A Creation Spirituality Primer Sept 29, Thursday 6:30-8:30 pm via Zoom Creation Spirituality is a way of being spiritual with roots in Jewish, dialectical, blessing-based thinking. This is in contrast to the Greek platonic, dualistic, original sin-based spirituality that has dominated western Christianity for centuries. This presentation will explore this alternative way of living the spiritual life. Our standard price for this course is $10. Please book by September 25. You may also choose to donate any additional amount by selecting the “Donate” button on this booking page to further help COSEW's Scholarship Fund. We also want to be inclusive, so we are offering a special coupon to those who find the $10 fee difficult. Just request a coupon by emailing: admin@contemplativewisconsin.org |
