Hey hey friends! April is in full swing and this is the start of one of my favorite times of year. Here, where I am, the weather is warming up, and as a school-based SLP the easy breezy days of summer are on the horizon, and I'm feeling like getting out to enjoy some warm weather! Even if it's still cold and possibly snowy where you are, now is a good time to take a second to get geared up for what's to come. April is the stat of quarter two of the year, which means you still have 3/4 of the year to make it an amazing 2022 for you! You've got time to do everything you want to do. Strategize. Prioritize and make it happen! I'm rooting for you. Last month I attended (and SPONSORED) my first NBASLH conference and it was amazing! Some of the biggest takeaways from this amazing experience was that no mater where you are in your personal or professional life, get a community of like-minded others to connect and collaborate with. The power of community is HUGE! You never know what you have to offer to someone else or what they can contribute to you and your journey. Here at Coffeehouse SLP, my purpose is to always provide a positive, supportive, community where I am your cheerleader because I do believe that if each of us (no matter who you are) actually acts on our passions we can impact not just our profession, but the world in so many ways! |

April Challenge This month I challenge you to take a proactive approach to making this year all that you want it to be by looking back at the first three months and asking yourself these three questions: 1. What worked well? 2. What do you need to adjust? 3. What is something new that you want to begin or implement moving forward? |

April Share Here are a few of the SLP-related national observances I'd like you to know about this month. 1. Autism Appreciation Month See the article below on why it's important that we are beyond awareness and at the level of appreciation. |

Parkinson's Awareness MonthHelp us create a future where no one lives with Parkinson's disease April is Parkinson's Awareness Month. This year, we want everyone to take actions to impact the future of Parkinson's disease (PD). Whether that means learning how to navigate your own future with Parkinson's or helping us create a world without PD, together we can make a difference. |

3. Stress Awareness Month As the seasons change, see this as an opportunity for you also to change whatever you need to in your life to create a better you. Monitor how you feel and make adjustments as needed. Take time to breathe and take in the fresh air! |
