New Drop Off Location: 8:20-8:30am

 

Now that construction is complete along 12th Street, we will shift drop-off from Buckley Park to the alley behind Hood Mortuary.

 

To drop off, pull into the front Smiley parking lot from 3rd Ave and then take a left down the alley behind Hood Mortuary where you will meet Ms. Laurette & Ms. Becca.

 

After you drop off, continue through the alley and onto 12th Street to exit.

Parent Volunteer Hours:

If you volunteered at our peace day potluck or during colvig, your volunteer hours have been recorded on your child's classroom volunteer spread sheet. For future use and recording your own hours, please click the volunteer spreadsheet linked below.

 

Lost & Found:

Please check out the Lost & Found crate underneath the white table in our school hallway. It is filling up fast and there are lots of great jackets and sweatshirts that need to be claimed!

Oct. 4th - 7th: NO SCHOOL-

Have a great Fall break and see you all Tuesday, Oct. 8th!

 

Oct. 16th, 5:30-6:30pm: Parent Education Night -

Join us for a parents-only education night to learn more about Montessori philosophy in the classroom! This is an RSVP event: emilie@durangomontessori.com. Scroll down to view invite.

 

Oct. 21st: Parent Conferences -

Teachers will be sending out a sign up form for you to claim a time slot for the date of Monday, Oct. 21st. This is a great opportunity for you to bring your questions to your child's lead teacher and learn about their academic and social/emotional progress in the classroom since the beginning of school!

 

Oct. 28th: Jackalope Acres field trip -(Early Childhood and Lower Elementary). Look out for an email from your teachers about this fun upcoming field trip!

 

Oct. 31st: Halloween Parade -

All students can arrive at school dressed in their costumes*. At 9 a.m., we will parade around the perimeter of the Smiley Building. Then, we will celebrate with a dance party on the West Smiley Lawn. Students will then partake in a harvest celebration** in their classrooms.

 

*We ask that students not wear scary masks or bring pretend weapons to school. We are a community school serving children ages 3-12 and request that we keep our younger friends in mind when preparing costumes.

**Unlike in years past, we will not be trick-or-treating but rather having healthy snacks in our classrooms. Parents are still invited to view or participate in our Halloween parade/ dance party! Thank you!
